Default converting 3 speed to 4 speed

any one with some good info/tips on best way to convert ea 3 speed auto to 4 speed. just brought a bomb eb for tranny, pulled it out and want to know any useful tips on how to convert the easiest way.........

easiest way would be to swap all of the looms from the EB into the EA. ALL of the looms (assuming both cars are MPFI).

You may need to change the diff too, someone else may be able to give more detail, im too tired :P

Yes change the diff as well, or the 4 speed auto is really no point at all.

Lets not forget the hardest bit is the fact the gearbox is not straight bolt up, I have heard a 5 speed u-shaped gearbox mount will fit and hold the gearbox in place, or just use the standard straight one and get some brackets made like these:


Also attached is the wiring diagram if you wish to integrate the 4 speed auto computer and loom into the EA (this is how I did my conversion).

If you're in Vic I have some cheap 4 speed trans cooler lines. I got ripped $35 at Jollys then found I had some from my EL already in the shed.

yeh both MPFI. so now whats the easiest way to take the looms out with out to much stuffing around?

pull the dash out to swap the looms, and yuo have to swap the engine bay looms as well, is the donor eb smartlock?
