Come a long way in it's life. I hope it's still around for it's 100th, or 60th.

Yes, a memorable day! It has been a very exciting 50 years of developments! I wouldn't be too depressed if I still had my old XK in the shed! It was 12 years old when I got it but.

Nothings changed.

Good to see its gone the distance....like the car does. For a car that was American, its become Australia's own.

It's a shame Ford doesn't have the market dominance they did back then. So many XK's were sold!

happy 50th to the good old Falcon, 3 of my mates had the scariest ride in an xk of their lives .
about 32 years ago i blew up the motor in my cd cortina between axedale and heathcote, my friends and i after a huge walk managed to hitch hike to the outskirts of bendigo, and walked into kangaroo flat to my 67 y.o nana`s place one 3 degree morning(we were all in t`shirts).
she answered the door, i apologised for the earlyiness (about 6 am) and asked if i could borrow her xk, to which she quickly replied "NO but i`ll drive you back to melb" we got back to melbourne no problems, i later found out my dear old nana was`nt up with the road rules too good and went through manya stop sign/giveway signs, my friends were all petrified, i slept through the whole trip , nan loved her old xk, i just thought i`d share that little xk memory. if this post is not suitable please delete mods.

Cool Happy Birthday Falcon

Hi all
I got my first Falcon in 1969 an XK I paid $60 for it and had it for two years
then traded it on an XL wagon that was $250
then I had a couple of Valiants and one HK 327 Monaro that was $1750
then it was back to an XY Fairmont for $2000 later on it was an XD in 1980 that cost me $5000 still later it was an XF Fairmont and a couple of Farlanes
along the way and now I have an AU Fairmont (Factory dual fuel) which I have had for 7 years
and the Mrs has a BA Ghia
so happy birthday Falcon all the best and many many happy returns

Done all my driving in Falcons and Fairmonts, none have ever let me down, fondest memory I have is taking my EF down a four wheel drive track and she got us through without a drama. Then it rained and altough it was a little harder, she got us out too. Mud caked all over her, the bloke at the car wash would have hated me.

Happy birthday mate, here's to the next 50...!

That promo art is awesome! So much more personality than the showroom floor style photos they use these days.
