mate has a ed fairmont,, its a auto at the moment, he bought a ED T5, and Computer,,,, put Motivator extractors on it and a exhaust,, what time can he expect at the drags,, diff ratoio,,, 3.27 single wheeler.....his hoping for a 15. flat.. is this possible and if not what can he do to it.....on a budget...

15 flat is a bit optimistic IMO. If he were to put a decent cam in it with the 5 speed, prviding the motor is up to scratch the flat 15's high 14's are deffinately a possibility.
Wade reground cams are $120 change over i think. |

A member with an immaculate ED Fairmont with EF T5 and various other mods was in the high 15s, but he should have been able to get to the mids with practise. As Damo said, a good cam will make a big difference and help your friend achieve his goal. It may pay off giving a bit of attention to the intake as well.

I believe a good rebuild on the engine will do it...we done a full race rebuild on a friends el xr6 engine...it was a manual...at the drags it was running full stock gear and managed to pull a 14.5 with stock tickford cam on it.... no extractors, no chip, full stock...it cost him around 2,500g's...

my mate with the ed got all the transmission, exhaust, extractors etc out of his old eb. the motor was worn out so he bout the ed to replace it. newer model and the engine is like new, his eb done consistant 15.00 to 15.50 at 92m/ph with a bit of wheel spin cause of his open diff, he said everything on his eb was stock bar the exhaust could that be true?
