Unfortunately the wiring isn't long enough for that :( unless I want the discman sitting in that little bin in front of the shifter.
And NO I'm not getting a CD player haha :the_finge |

If EBs came out with 8-tracks I know what it'd be fitted with at the moment! :Reverend:
Hmmm dya reckon I could get an aftermarket 8-track player from ebay? : |

But will it fit nicely with the EB surround, w4yn3? I can see wiring it up to the loom as being a disaster, making the destroyed-electrically-by-Dave 8 track being useful only on an upcoming "Will It Float?" segment.

With the shifter looking like a manual, can you fit a dummy clutch?
hehe. definitely confusing for the thieves. wont start where it is, looks like a manual shifter (almost) but wont move.. has a clutch. |

lol dummy clutch = I'll add a spring to the footrest :P
And NO! The tape deck stays : However if a premium system was to pop up for <$50... The one condition would be that the premium system has an orange LCD screen to match all my digital she-at -Dave- |

I have no sense of logic, therefore I will contest this logical reasoning regarding simply lengthening the aforementioned wire :

PM recieved & replied to!
I think I could handle it :P That insanely stiff accelerator spring of yours will keep me in check :P The BA shifter takes a little getting used to though. I'm up for another pilot session in the XC however! -Dave- |

Dave, just looked at your attempt with the vynal,
I think you should ditch the half deflated hot air baloon look and make another up. Try cutting 3 triangles out of fabric and then stitching them together, that will get rid of the excess you have there now. Does that thing inflate when you go down the road with the bits you cut from your trans tunnel?

non! La joueur de cassette stays! As for the aviators, I wear 'em all the time :P Except at night... no, wait! "I wear my sunglasses at night..." :
Yeah Karl I'm not going to stay with the whole balloon/ripples thingy. Also, the vinyl is stiffer than the leather I've got so the ripples are exaggerated in a sense. I've taken a look at my old man's VZ auto gear boot and I can see how the two pieces of leather (one large, and the other an "insert" stitched with two seams) would make a cone or pyramid-type rise. I'm gonna have another crack at a gearboot in this style, but this isn't happening until at least next weekend. Hooray for uni work! Yes... the VZ gave me the initial idea... Who would've thought, inspired by a Commodore! Sacre bleu... -Dave- |

So how quickly will it change between gears in manual mode? Just wondering, how well would a shift kit work with this mod?

Yep, *generally* changes quickly when in manual mode. The only disappointing shift I've noticed was a 2nd to 3rd shift at about 3/4 throttle in medium-high revs. It had a decent lag time before finally shifting.
For WOT it has a lag of about 200rpm (which is like 0.2 seconds or so... it's pretty quick considering), and for normal driving it probably is also 0.2 seconds and virtually zero rpm lag, however the shift from 1st to 2nd kind of gives a shove in the back when you do it while driving normally... moreso if you rev to about 4k, hold it for a lil while (to **** off people you're driving past down a street lined with outdoor cafes), and then shift into 2nd :the_finge This is with a mild shift kit (S5 solenoid line resistor mod). -Dave- |

Tis just the shifter. Standard EB box (315,000km old lol), plus some funky electronics added between the BA shifter and the auto loom to trick it into being a BA transmission (well, BA-esque...)
Shift-kit = your typical S5 solenoid loom wire resistor mod. -Dave- |
