Am I supposed to remove the air filter before using this stuff?
I ask because my air filter is brand new and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

yeah I've read it allready. Doesn't specify whether to spray the actual filter or remove it.

Don't bother removing the filter unless you can't get the spray into the engine.
I used some of this stuff this morning to start a difficult motorcycle and just squirted it into the opening in the airbox.

It doesn't specify it cause you don't have to......remove it that is....

I am assuming this is a carby fitted engine....?

If it's a carbed engine, remove the filter and squirt it down the throat to get it going. It's an EFI engine, squirt it down the piping that runs between the filter housing and the throttle body.

This way, it's getting the "full" dosage, rather than some of the stuff getting "trapped" in the air filter.

I'm with him^ ^It will not hurt your filter as it becomes a gas/vapour almost as soon as it leaves the spray can. Don't be smoking when you spray it. It will also knock you out if you get a lungfull, it's main ingredient is "ether" once used to do surgical operations

'Air Cleaner' is another way of saying Air Filter. And in DJR's post it makes it quite clear how to use it.

Magic stuff...used to use it a lot to start an old 1938 DeSoto I had in the back yard. Lift the air cleaner, spray down the carby, turn the key and whomp...starts like a new one!

Either that or backfires a two foot flame out the carby...

I give the missus a short burst of it to try and get her out of bed and up to do some very rare house work, but it did no good. Worked wonderfully on a XB Ford the day before.

I hadn't started the coupe for about a month and a half- after no success one blast down the carby throat had it started and idling perfectly......it sure cleans out the crap effectively and gets things firing!
Personally, I don't remove the filter, just the cover and spray directly into the carb....I use a 14" filter so it's easier.
If you have a small filter or more modern type, just spray directly into it.

As far as I am concerned, it's a fantastic product..........except..........That it's a drug to the engine.

Yes, to removing the filter.

It's like cocaine to a drug addict. It wants more and more. It "does" stuff the engine over a long period of time.

The reason I know, is that I have seen large Earthmoving machines that need this stuff to start, that is, that will not even run without it.
I've used 2 cans once trying to start a Scraper.
Older diesels needed it, due to inoperative heating systems or poor combustion.

Becareful what you use it on.

yeah they do get addicted to it.using it from time to time has no real affect on a motor and i have found the best way on a carby engine is to open it up and spray it straight into the motor.

We had an old UD water truck that used to live on it when winter came around ( glow plugs were working as well ) It wouldnt start without it but once summer came around she wouldnt need it, i have never ever had to pick up a can for my scraper or any other machines

This product and Aerostart of which it is a copy are the best products bar none to kill ticks. As soon as you detect a tick on your body, spray it with Aerostart and it dies instantly, thereby stopping it from injecting it's toxic saliva into you. After spraying, don't try to pull it out. Just leave it and it will drop out after a while. If you don't believe me try Googling it.

Ive always pulled the filter off and sprayed directly into either throttlebody or carby... I used to use it to start the Austin because it sits around for months on end, these day, a smige of 2 stroke because I always have some handy for the mower etc...
