If you made the bit clear and the light use to take a clear bulb for the orange indicator... wouldnt that mean that a orange bulb wouldn't fit the socket which took the clear bulb?
Though nothing a bit of force couldnt fix. Maybe its different in the e-series but i know its like that in the au's. |

i have been wanting clear tail lights in my EL for a long time now and was ****ed at no one doing it so i started it my self
with a hole saw i cut a piece of red and orange (1 1/2 inch ) then smashed out all the lens , used a old bar heater to bend 1.5mm clear perspek and whirth glued the stop-tail red and orange blinker into it later i thought stupid me just use a vk commadore blinker.. well it leaks a bit to much 4 my likeing (and the cops) even with a good sealer around it. but i still want them so i went back and started again after i asked around at the summernatts and they told me they would not make any to suit so looks like if you want them you got to do them your self

Just a thought, how well is the light going to refract from the globe without that orange piece in there?

perfectly well rob
the reflector is silver painted, and is staggered to reflect light out, all the orange does is change the colour from white light to orange light. if you put an orange globe in, it will reflect orange light just as well - thats all they did for the new monaro's exposed orange globe |

You could just get an AU then you have several rice lights to choose from.
Though for an E-eseries couldnt you find a altezza light from another car around the same size as an e-series one and get a plastic welder to fit it up?? Then just get some custom made clear perspex for the cover then you have some altezzas. |

Smashing the orange out on the sedans clearly isn't the way to go!
There's no way to get it all smashed up. |

Yep that's exactly what I did. I used a large flat blade screwdriver to break up the walls of the orange lens and break it in half. Then I used needle nosed pliers to grab the lens and pull it through the socket hole and once it got stuck in the hole I turned the pliers to shatter the lens bit by bit. I also found out today that the orange tinted globes don't fit in the sockets as those pins on the side of the globe are slightly offset differently. But it was nothing a few minutes with a die grinder didn't fix. _2:

the wagons have orange plastic lenses tommi, not the orange filter in the clear lights - you have to just replace the units with EL ones

lol I advise against the hammer and screwdriver method with the sedan.....I put a hole through the lense with the hammer. Glued it back on, keeps popping off when I close the boot lmao
