LOL my sister tried to join the holden forum, and they would barely accept any emails! Even though you need an email in order to join, they wont accept hotmail, yahoo, msn etc... apparently theyve banned them! so barely anyone would be able to be a member without making a new email.

Those e-mails are not accepted for good reason! The email requirement is to very identity and stop the same user opening multiple accounts, particularly those users with some kind of axe to grind. Similar measures are taken on AFF and most well run forums. |

because it stops people you ban or otherwise don't want rejoining from just getting another email after they get the boot.

You ban those types to stop bulk registrations or to stop one forum account being shared. It does happen.

Given a preference its always easiest to limit accepted mails to your_user_name@your_isp And we are lenient kinda people within the terms & conditions. |

well i guess that holden for ya, dramas galore :P
it does make sense now that they would limit it to isp, but wouldnt you think its a bit far? ive never seen a site go to those lengths to stop multiple accounts. |

Well, should the need arrive we will have no qualms in doing it. So far we have been able to deal with things but ya never know what the future brings.

I've been told by several people that AFF will not tolerate multiple accounts if discovered! Is this correct?
