G'day everyone! Yesterday I just discovered a massive crack in the fuel door on my EA as well as a few suspect looking scratches. It wasn't there when I fuelled the car up less than a week ago, and I have no idea what caused it. It's had a bit of a warp for some time, and never really sat flush with the body. Now I'm wondering, since I have to replace it, does an EF/EL fuel door fit? As the release is inside the car, I don't really need the little tab that is on the EA-ED design, and would prefer a smoother design like the EF/EL.

cut the whole hinge off the ef door, grind the finger hole off your ea door then glue it on
|

you cut the finger hole off the EA door, then place the EF door cover over the EA door..
so the ea door stays, but with the EF cover over it |

Well. That won't work too well considering the EA door is ready to break in half. I might just get another EA door (hopefully I can find one already in silver). A bit too much mucking around for something hardly anyone will notice.

Dad does. I'm not very good at welding though, unless I can convince Dad to do it for me!

Do you really need to weld it isnt it possible to replace the fuel door with an el one and fit the release so you can release it from inside the car where does the welding come into it wouldnt mind doing it to mine?

you have to weld the EA-ED hinge onto the EF/L flap if you do it the proper way,
you can always do it the way i said earlier |
