Default Enjoying your car.

I must say that the last 1/1/2 years on this forum has been awesome. The AU ford wagon has been transformed into a fun car to drive.
I have had some frustrating times in its development but now its like that was all a world away. I just love driving the thing.Last few weeks has seen it refined and it is a bit quicker ..but the greatest pleasure is just to drive it.

Its kind of hard to describe...I think its just the fulfilment of reaping the rewards from sweat and tears .

The dynos didnt cut it,nor some of the fancy parts....just good fun.

Has anyone else got that kind of feeling about their beast?Do tell!! :sm_headba

I know the feeling. The Focus isnt modified in the way of performance but the first part - exhaust - turned up today. Now Im just so keen to get it on there. People may bag me and say its only a 4cyl - so what. I love my car even in stock form, I cant wait to see what it does with a bit more go.

LOL - I thought the forums have only been up and running for close to 12 months!

I'm still going throught the sweat and tears to get the mustang back on the road, aiming to have it running by 3 January 06.

But I've had fun in fiddling with my wife's AU wagon, learning from others (like useless and JC) as to what can be done, how easy it can be and picking up the odd bit here and there.

Well, since i bought the new car, i havent stopped driving it, just love it & cant get enough of it.
My weekends are devoted to cleaning waxing the car now. LOL

Cant wait to bang the new exhaust and CAI on her soon, i will need to be dragged out of the damn thing!

Its actually kinda pathetic now that i think of it in greater detail. HAHAHAHA

cheers

Hahah yeap, it's definitely got something to do with all the enthusiasts on here. I never dreamt my stocko Falcon would be manual one day. In fact, I never dreamed it would actually come this far. I still go on drives by myself for fun, ever since day one - just because I get a rush!

I like the sound of the exhaust now and its funny but I dont want to mod or touch anything in the engine bay.The only thing I am yet to do is fiddle with cam timing to see where better acceleration happens. But even so I feel so content that I may not even bother. What a nice feeling to accelerate from the lights and pull a few car lengths on most vehicles which are dubbed as performance cars and the priceless look on their faces as you pass on by !!

The frustration in their eyes which says "dam that taxi looking wagon ...I cant keep up with him" Haha..I have a laugh sometimes.

I have to admit that I have gone way past just enjoying my car. I picked up my girl in Dec 04 and she was one fo the first batch of Typhoons. I was wrapped but still ..... just a little disappointed as I was expecting something a little more brutal.

After some 3K she went in for her clutch recall and the new flash.... and hey presto... she felt a little stronger....... well after talking to a few people I decided to do the edit and custom tune......bloody hell another 40 rwkw's :jab: .

That was when she went from being my pride and joy to my addiction... I started down that long slippery road.... mmm bigger injectors ???.... what about a BMC replacement filter?? .... then this... then that.... and that Similing Simon... happily leading me to the next step

Now look at me.... I just have to get that boost.... all other things have become secondary...... I just WANT to drive my car, I NEED to drive my car ..... am starting to be shunned at parties as thats all I want to talk about : .

Oh well let me know if there is a FA (Fords Anonymous) therapy group ever put together I think I will be their first customer :

I might be on my way to hell but bugger me I am smiling all the way.

Peter

I miss my old cars. It sucks not having anything to drive other than the CBR until the torana is finished.

The LC is a long way from being done but I cant wait to drive it. Its going to be a hell of a drive. Even in its first state. 1000kgs, manual and 200rwkw

I cant wait to get 300 out of it! :P

I bought my AU as a daily driver almost 2 years ago, with the intention of doing up the old ute.
It was just enough to have actual working heating and cooling in the car and not needing to carry spare fuel jerries and spear parts all of the time.
Now it's more of a project than the ute. I love the idea of doing up a standard 6 to be a bit of a weapon, sure I can get a turbo or v8,btu where's the fun in that. Getting the old girl to get up and boogie isbetter.
Everyone goes "oh, a 4litre forte" but I see my baby.

I can't wait till get my car back together to enjoy driving it again, and plan the next mod. I would have still modified my car without this site, but probably not to the full extent that I have done to date.

I can't put any other way than, "The XR8's part of the family." That bulge gives me at least one smile every time I drive the big bugger. My 3 yr old son loves it and my wife scares me with tales of "2nd & 3rd, that's all you need...."

I love my car to death.

Even though VLs have a bad rep I love driving mine even though its basically stock, because it still goes pretty hard for a near stocker.

Whole lot of horsepower, that's the fun in it.
