And I thought Shannon's were expensive with the third party policy I took out yesterday for $170. Parents had the same car insured with RACV for $90 a year.

I've started looking around for my Jeep as its up for renewal.
My circumstances have changed in the last year and I now no longer drive the car to work. It stays home all day in a LUG behind electric security gates too.
Gave YOUI a try as their TV add says so and so saved $500 a year by not driving her car to work every day. Did all the online bits and then came the "someone will call you shortly to discuss". Call came 5 mins later and after I explained everything it still came in dearer that last years policy, with me doing 160k's a day commuting.

A couple of hours later I got an email from the consultant saying he could knock a further $100 off the quote if I wish to proceed. I'll wait for the renewal first.

Had our 2009 Lancer with YOUI comprehensive for the last 3 years and prices rose on avg. $100 per year till this year when we got told the yearly payment would be $925 for small basics (hire car and yearly windscreen).

Wife was going to pay it when she had a thought. "I`m a manager at a Coles Express servo so why not check out Coles Insurance"? Quote came in at HALF price....$461 for full comp....seeya YOUI.

Cheers

This is very interesting, I recently changed insurance companies from AAMI to YOUI, I got a few quotes from others including Shannon's and racq but YOUI were still the cheapest. I got the typhoon insured for 83 a month full comp, and the ba ute for 48 a month full comp. I have saved myself 330$ a year from changing, you have to keep on top of insurance companies these days, I've changed insurers 3 times in the past 3 years because of premium increases.

I was with youi for home and contents, ba futura and ef xr8. The misses had a small stack 2 weeks ago ($6000 damage) so they wrote the xr off. Was paying $56 a month full comp with no windscreen and $675 excess. They payed us out in a week and a half and we bought a similar priced car (au fairmont ghia v8) and they wanted $156 a month. I was told to try anz insurance and they quoted me on full comp with $48 pm on the au and $32 pm on the ba futura with windscreen and $500 excess, even though we only claimed 2 weeks ago, but were way more expensive with the home and contents. Very happy. Worth a try.

My 24 year old son has fully com on his 2007 XR6, with an agreed value of $16,000, with RACQ, for $665.00.

Mine is a bit less, but I'm a bit older!

Another one with Shannons for both modified cars and the house, have been with them for 13+ years NCB for life. There is more to insurance than the lowest premium. Their claim process has been the best I have every used along with choice of repairer. Have had good experiences in the 4 claims we've had with them (1 being a write off), 2 at fault. I would be happy to pay an extra 20% compared to the competition due to their service levels (no I don't work for Shannons).

I had trouble with Allianz not wanting to cover a nominated second driver due to a speeding incident that had him lose his licence for 3 months last year. They wouldn't cover at all ! But RACV would so I have found them to be good.

My brother had a claim with YOUI, his car was parked and during high wind a steel rubbish basket from the building site 3 doors up hit the side of his car. YOUI made my brother go to VicRoads and get a print out of his licence history, made him get his previous insurance history.

So much messing about for 3 scratches valued about $800 worth of damage. The building company even said they would cover the damage. But YOUI took a month to settle the claim.

As I mentioned before, there is more to an insurance policy than the lowest premium.
