Hi guys,
Just thought I would alert everyone to the latest specials on Mk2 falcons from Ford. These specials are really good. Heres the deal: - Free servicing for 3 years - 18" wheels - 8" premium screen - USB/Bluetooth etc.... Sedans: XR6 - $33,990 Drive Away XR6 Turbo - $39,490 Drive Away Ute: XR6 - $30,490 Drive Away XR6 Turbo - $34,490 Drive Away I was pretty impressed by this, makes the new Holden commodore pricing structure seem not that impressive really. If I was in a position to buy one I would have to consider it very seriously. Anyway just a heads up for those who are in the new car market. |

No wonder the turbo build rate has increased. Great price.
They really need to move units as this FBT crap has really made a huge dent in sales. A lot of cars waiting to be sent out to lease companies sitting on grass until they find out what the changes might mean. Or until the Libs win the election and the changes die, which seems likely. |

I guess Ford are doing their best to entice Falcon buyers to upgrade to the turbo (which would have some profit margin) due to the great pricing would help Ford make a buck. Boss, how many I6T's are the crew at Geelong making daily?

Good. That should now prove to everyone the vehicles they're currently using are more than sufficient for their needs and don't require unnecessary consumption and burning through the country's tax dollars. New car's have now proven necessary and a waste of resources. The elephant in the room is the auto industry simply isn't viable without the support of every shoulder and the blood of every citizen, and we're all expected to show compassion/give financial aid. This country could very well be right wing driven in a month or so. These companies need to be able to support themselves which they can't. Therefore they have no place in this country and todays world. Why we're still supporting these local companies I do not understand from a government perspective. Hate to say it but it really is just putting off the inevitable with a lot of money burnt. Sounds beyond harsh but it is a situation where people need to accept swallowing the pill.

That's exactly what I thought reading this, it's as though some people seem to have the attitude it's a moral right of theirs or something...
But it's ok they're completely "unaware" they're responsible for over 40 billion an annum. She be right mate.

There's now no longer 40 billion for them to play around with so they find themselves making the same decisions we all have to. Holding on to perfectly fine 2-3yr old+ vehicles. Perfectly fine, instead of that tax going into their own leather seats and FPV's it can go into roads and parks and all that just like ours does.

Can we keep this to a discussion of the discount on these models and not turn it into another FBT and government assistance debate please. It's been done to death.

Was offered a XR6T ute (manual, premium paint) for $32,700 drive away by Sunbury Ford two weeks ago. Minus $400 if I went for a white one.
Also offered a January built black XR6 sedan (auto) for $28,000 drive away. Both included the 3 year servicing deal. |

Have I missed something? I might be mistaken but haven't these been roughly the prices all year? I know they were back when I bought our xr6 turbo earlier in the year but they included a 5 year/200000km warranty instead of the free servicing.

Got a quote from a dealer for $43500 for an auto XR6T with leather drive away. I'll leave it. Just not worth it for what is now considered, "old technology".

Sedans haven't changed. But utes are cheaper. Turbo ute has dropped bout 2k....but none advertised in Vic...which doesn't surprise me.

I wish everyone would stop whinging about their cars depreciating more now or missing out on free servicing etc. Sure it sucks but you got the deal you got, full stop. These sorts of deals have been around most of the year if you bargained hard. I couldn't care less about the depreciation of my FG XR6T. I bought it knowing full well that it would suffer, but for now i enjoy it and don't even consider the depreciation. Ford need to sell the cars, for them that is all they care about, and that is all i would care about as a business as well.

These prices makes the 42.5K I paid for mine last year seem dear in comparison … and I thought it was a bargain LOL
