And thanks for your offer Damo, but I can't keep relying on you guys!!!!
Sure you can mate, as heljas said that's what the club is a bout, in a way. I'm tipping it's the cable or low fluid maybe both. When I changed the clutch in my EA i lost most of the fluid and was really slack for a week, the gearbox made the worst whining noise, and when i topped it back up it took 1.5 litres :o meaning there was only half a litre in it. :

I'm more then happy to come have a look and a fiddle around with it for ya, i have a good condition cable here too if you don't wanna waste money buying a new one. Or you could even bring it around to my place.

As for oil I used expensive Transmax Z with a nulon additive in the EA and it seemed pretty good, but them i used cheap Penrite $10 a litre oil in the EB and it seemed even better. I'm tipping yours is very low on oil coming from a wrecking yard.

Just sing out if you need a hand.

Thanks Damo, much appreciated!

I've already bought a new cable to rule out possibilities, and it probably needed it anyway. I'm taking it down the road tomorrow to be looked at. I'll get them to replace and adjust the cable, and change the fluid to something decent if that's what they recommend. I just hope it's nothing more serious than that.... Then I'll hold off the mods :P

Update: idle it's making a noise, when the clutch is in it shuts up.
Same as mine. Thrust bearing. The not engaging first from stationary thing, same as mine. The clutch wasnt disengaging because of the pressure plate problems which also ИИИИed the thrust bearing...

Does anyone know how much a T5 rebuild should cost drive-in, drive-out? I remember reading Dave (Thanatos) paid $750, but I'm not sure if he had to take the box out. I CBF dropping the box (was just quoted near 900 to have the box out and looked at because the trans bloke "couldn't tell" and it could be "more expensive if it's something else").....
