Just came back from the shops with lunch and "limp home mode" not good,
Can somebody please tell me where the auto control module is on the EB 2 XR8, had shift kit fitted last week and it was connected near this module and i cant get hold of the fella who put it in, and i cant find a trace of where he put it. Regards Kevin

Did you look in the left kick panel? Typically limp home mode with shift kits occurs when the wires come loose or the tranny has a failsafe sensor tripped. Disconnect the cars battery for 20 minutes then reconnect it and see if limp home mode dissapears for the time being. Then locate the people who installed it to check his wiring.

EB 5.0's trans computer is near your left foot, near the handbrake. There's two plugs to it with looms coming out. ALL loom wires coming out of the plugs are singular and don't split into multiple wires.
Having said that, the shift kit will be tapped in to a few of these wires, I'm assuming pin 7 (a green wire) and pin 20 a red/yellow wire. I think those are the two pins. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...rimpedloom.jpg Here's a pic of my somewhat modified loom. It looks like a mess here but has been marginally tidied up since that pic was taken! Ignore all the wires that have been crimped here. The main reason I've put this link up is so that you can see what the plug & its looms look like. -Dave- |

Bingo - thats where the bugger is, i was looking all over for it but in the kick panel and behind the air-con. Thanks GHIA5L for the inforative answer, and your right with all as the pin7 has been cut and the little black box is in line on it, and the red pin29 is just an inline wire clamp, that STINGRAY said is undone and the wire loose in the cradle.
Easy fix, cable tie round it and all good. Thanks very much too both fella,s Kevin

(Ghia5L here)
Shift kit + BA shifter + 4.11s = nutbar! They all play their part in the shift quality of the auto. Diff ratio change + shift kit is a good way to keep up with/get ahead of manuals. : Just about to leave Melbourne (I stayed at EDXR6T's/-jjM-'s place after AFD) to see the avatar girl _2: _2: -Dave- |
