I was a GT guy and never ever considered a F6. Until Australia Day a couple of years ago a mate let me take his for a spin and after that I was a changed man. Driving the F6 around like a nanna was no big thrill but once you put your foot down and the boost winds up you get this sling shot type of feeling. I now own one myself now and I love it.

Already have turbo V8 ..
I went the GT mainly for long term. Plus I love V8's the new engine is far better designed and lighter.. Was tuff though the F6 came close.. I bought Ford Reps GTE for a VERY good price..

I'm in the same boat, had a FG GT Boss 315 for a couple years and when the time came to trade up I took the 335 for a test drive. it was good, but when she is street driven, there was no huge appeal for my over my 315, when I was at the dealer I decided to take an F6E for a spin. I use to be a turbo guy so maybe a turbo would do it for me once again (use to have a bf mk11 xr6 turbo and sy turbo territory Ghia), couple weeks later, I took the F6E home.

Always had V8 fords not a GT though have to say my F6 is fantastic completely sold on Turbos unlikely to own anything else. Yeh V8s sound good but I'm saving money on the price of a GT that goes into mods and the you can just cruise round town no probs take wife and kids out. Come Friday Winton or the Island. However, if you track a car you will break things obviously but I love it.

The current GT is superior to the F6, but then the F6 is superior to the Boss engined Fords in my opinion.
I find turbo models more exciting to drive, but no doubt they can't match the sound of an 8. (albeit still sound great) Each to their own I reckon, there is no "better" choice as both fantastic cars! Last edited by MercuryT; 18-02-2014 at 04:02 PM. |

As above...
The I6T had the wood over the 5.4 Boss's but the arrival of the Miami changed everything. However they are both fantastic and I would happily have either or both. |

I would go F6 especially if you are looking to mod, very quick cars once modded I still miss mine at times haha

One time the dealer let me have a G6E Turbo as a courtesy car when my Territory went in for a service. I had a BA GTP at the time but I was gob-smacked with the turbo! The whistle and the instant response from the ZF was fantastic, that thing was like a rocket!
I've never driven an F6; I like the sound of the V8 though and my R-Spec gets up and boogies. I could quite easily own an F6 and reckon I'd be happy with it; it's fantastic we have the choice although, sadly, not for much longer.

I feel it pertinent that I be given both an F6E and GTE for a period of no less than 5 years to accurately determine which one is better.
Make it so.

Ive owned both cars. F6 is frantic on boost, but 95% of the time, putting around town, its off boost. It lacks the street presence of the v8. Driving it about town you tend tk hear it start to wind up but back off before it gets all serious on you, hearing the turbo flutter. Sort of warns you (spooling) to back off or else.
The miami v8 has that brutal thrust when driving it in most scenarios. It gives you that full power hit every dabble of the throttle. There is no warning, just explodes on you. Foot Flat to the floor they are about as fast as one another but driving day to day in moderate conditions the s/c V8 is more rewarding. |

My turbo goes tut tut , my V8 goes brooooom. Can't beat the turbo for smash in the seat power. Nothing compares when it comes on boost hard. The V8 needs a fare few extra killerwasps to stay with an F6. But once over 120 the 8 just gets left behind

Manual or ZF? GTP335 ZF impressed up over 100km/h, Typhoon ZF was the one that would explode at any speed. I found the 335 to be very linear, plenty of warning from my point of view. |

Even though I've owned two GT's and an ex race Phase III it's an F6 for me. Better balance and untapped power potential

Nothing that bad about old tech eh depends what floats your boat, one has to ask in our current driving conditions ie over policed roads/cameras etc etc what advantage either has over the other. One could argue that ones way quicker in a straight line but seriously if thats the be all then theres far cheaper ways to do it.

I found it the other way around, the GTp is smooth & seems to just make speed without the boot up the @rse the turbo does.....

F6 for me and my favourite is the BF Typhoon. FGs are great, but I think Ford made the straight six a little too effective. The BF tears your face off when it's getting into the boost, whereas the FG responds so quickly you almost miss out on the turbo experience.
I like the GTs too but they've never really been competitive with the torque delivery of the I6T. |

I went from a 2010 FG F6 to a 2013 FPV GT, and now have a 2014 G6E Turbo. IMO, while the GT was a good car (tuned, with 404rwkw), the G6 ***** all over it. I'm a fan of the I6T, I prefer the sound and the power delivery. The midrange that I've got in mine is explosive, yet it looks like any other G6.

Only driven a s/c GT mildly to get a feel of the coilovers I was to buy.
Seemed nose heavy. Might take a caryard GT or a FGx XR8 for a boot for a feel of power delivery. I bought my FGF6 new in 2009 when there was no comparison. F6 all the way. A keeper. |
