122km/h, going any faster results in a fireball, that said if you drive with your fog lights on in clear conditions whilst exceeding 112km/h - that is the start point at which the BA explodes into flames.

I was under the impression that if utalising 3 road safety triangles secured on the roof the top speed would be increased to 128 and 118 respectively

Heres one we prepared earlier!

No safety triangles (or banana's) were injured in this photoshoot!

Haha, but mate, if only you had spent your money on a fire extinguisher for the car rather than triangles!

Smacking into a BA with a triangle may not put the fire out as fast but it would be a bloody ИИИИ load more enjoyable :

Its not a BA. The AU's were far different aerodynamically.. the triangles were set out for optimal AU non fireball speed. BA's need them all on the roof.

ha ha ha I didnt even actually look at the car in the pic e

So with this info at hand... I must never look at buying a BA (or AU for that matter) if I want to go as fast as I may or may not in my EF :

A BA with red and blue coloured lights on the roof would go fastest wouldn't it

Triangles dont work on EF's... I have one.

Apparently they fireball under 70kph which is under the operational speed of a triangle (or 3). If you want to go over 70kph in an EF without risk of instant combustion you need to cover the left side of it in teacosies knitted together with zip ties.

Dont worry, could be worse, apparently only thing that stops XF's from fireballing over 63kph is a boot full of rotting sardines.. poor buggers. (They say its water damage to the carpet but we all the truth :hihi: )

How fast did you get. I've been in a NA XR6 upto the speedlimiter (not driving), which is a little over 200km/h (Maybe 210)

The actual limits are:

XR6, 200km/h, XR6T 230km/h, FPV 250km/h.

This is a speed calculated by the ECU based on the rotational velocity of the wheels, so you can actually go a bit faster.

It is important to remember:
1) The analogue speedo reads slightly high on ALL falcons (In my F6, 100=98; GTP, 100=97). The digital one is much closer.
2) The calculation is only approx as the tyres expand and deform due to centrifical force at high speed making them larger and therefore cover more distance per rotation.

The quickest I got my GT-P up to was 254 GPS which was a bit over 260 on the speedo. I haven't been up to NT in the F6 yet.

Why not have a worthwhile argument.

If I kick a midget in the balls from a 15 foot run up, how many times will he rotate until he lands on the highway? What will his peak velocity be? And will the truck that runs him down be red?

I know of someone who has an FPV and had the car near the top speed. Up the top end as well.

For the record (this applies to AU1, 2 and 3 and is the rule.. but there are odd exceptions.. rare but true).

All AU Utes of any kind (including Tickfords and Pursuits) - 180kph
All LWB of any kind (Wagons, Fairlanes, LTDs and TL's) - 180kph
All NON Tickford badged Sedans (including the S) - 180kph
All Tickford Sedans (XR6, XR8, TE and TS) - between 210kph and unlimited.
