Don't mind the WRX and the Skyline, besides from being fully sick maaate.
They are bloody fast, sorry to say but the old falcon motor is a wee bit too sluggish to take them on.
It's the civic's and other little crap with drain pipes hanging out the back that really ИИИИ me off.

Been harassed by ricers, or harassed ricers? ;) Most of the time they're too far behind to hear their comments.

WRX's are sloooow, 155Kw stock for MY94-MY98 (on 12psi too), AWD helps off the line, but sucks everywhere else.

I wouldn’t call someone going past you in a faster car ‘harassing’. Stockish Rex’s and R32-33’s are fair game nowhere near as quick as people make them out to be.

They're supposed to be 14.3-14.5 stock, so that's far enough in front of a slightly modded Falcon as is.

People who drive 'rice' cars think they are one step ahead of you even without racing. I love it when i rev my car and they think im going to go for it, they spin the wheels and speed off down the road, whilst im still making my way slowly from the lights.

A WRX are resonably fast car, and seriously bang for your buck when moding.

ive got 3 mates with WRX's, all front mounts, exhausts, and tune all in the 12's.. no more than 4k spent
people spend that on the falcons and 'might' 'might' keep up with a stock WRX.. the only way we might beat them is if they bog the launch, but by 120km/h they will be ripping passed you again..

Trust me they dont do 14.3's stock when in the hands of your average driver. To get those times from a rex requires a box destroying launch. WRX owners (especialy the ones who have rebuilt a box or two) do NOT launch on the street in the same mannor it takes to run the low 14's they claim. R32's are just pure jokes in stock form, absolute jokes be lucky to run 15.0. 33's will run mid 14's easy as pie, however if you get the jump on them you can hold them quite easly.

The above is all from my experences at AIR

Only way then is to buy an XR6T and put 4K of mods on it...

so how long after spending "only" 4k did they break their drivelines?

why do people say WRX/Skylines/XR6 turbos are good "bang for your buck". they're a ИИИ expensive car to start with. a good bang for your buck is a XD falcon with a nuts clevo in it.

What did they spend the 4k on to get 12's? How long do their clutches and gearboxes last?

yep but they are suposedly a high performance turbo an damn more expensive than what some of us 4.0 drivers have.Once again we should be comparing`` them to the XRTs with about 4 or 5 grand spent on them.Different story then i think.

: Yesterday there was a white impreza that sounded damn ricy right up my tail so i moved ova then got in behind his big cannon exhaust/blow off valve thingamy and watched him gun it to get away. He had nothin on me at all as i had to change lanes to prevent nudging him from behind.

I hear despite how fast REXs are u have to ring their nuts to get the best out off them anyway otherwise u can be more than a second off the pace...

Bingo. Running 14s with a stock 5 speed ain't gonna happen for long.

Not much. But they are totally different engines/cars, you can't even begin to compare them.

LOL! i do the exact same thing. Other day had this old guy in a twin turbo 300zx let off flutters like 3 times. Caught up to him at the lights and kept slowly goina bit forward and then braking as if i was about to race him lol. lights went green and i hit the pedal and layed off, he went for it, in the process backfiring and i dont know what happened but alot of smoke came out of his exhaust and he pulled over, kaned it past him.. Best race ive ever had. :

compare prices too... i mean, come on :P

of course your gonna run 14s with the amount your paying for them from the floor....

whack a front mount on an xr6T, and another 3-4 grand in edits and so on and i would love to see a comparison side by side...

There is no substitution for capacity.... 2L turbo used to be a better choice than the 4L NA, but now they both have sneezers, its a way different story.

Two of them still have stock boxes with no issues, 1 has a dog box but it came with the car they all have 1.7 60ft'ers aswell(the guy with the dogbox has the slowest time, 12.9), and I mean bang for your buck by get a front mount exhaust, bit of boost and a good tune, all relatively simple mods, under 4k and run some decent times. The car itself isnt all that cheap to buy though.

one of them has had clutch problems, purely because he dumps it in 2nd gear and spins 4wheels up the road, Mechan1k has seem him do this aswell.

Dev5ute, your name and sig says it all haha, if you didnt beat a stock wrx somethings not right, but you've also spent a fair bit.

Walkinshaw is right though, not many can actually drive them and reach the 14.4 specs that are claimed. I even admitt to knocking a couple off in my car, having said that ive also beaten 2 BA XR6t's and a BA XR8 aswell.. also had my ИИИИ handed to me by all of them!!

Interesting... Interesting..... Now I wanna race a few Rexies uhh at Calder. Too bad you don't come across many stock! I remember hearing about how Subies required you to "dump" the clutch to get them cutting quick times.
