Default Why are Focus so cheap?

I have been looking for a car for the OH around 2008 model and have noticed that the Focus are very cheap compared to KIA's & Hyundai's and was wondering what issues they have that no one wants them?

I can't speak for other Focus owners, but mum's 2007 Focus here is &%*%%$$ expensive on parts and nothing can reconditioned, it always ends up being a new part from Ford.

You can get an 2008 i30 or corolla from 5 grand.. both are more popular
and its not an expensive category to start with.
from my experience the focus has 2.0L which performs like a 1.3 and uses too much fuel.

the got slagged with the poor dual clutch powershift issue, and all models got tarred with the same brush. as long as you choose a torque converter auto or a manual you should be fine and pick up a bargain

My 2013 manual has been faultless for 105000k, wouldn't hesitate to buy another especially as they are cheap. Have driven plenty of other brands in the category but none drive or have the feel like the Focus.

Agree .. the name "Focus" is now cooked .. no one will touch them, including dealers for trade ins.

Was a conventional 6 speed auto. The new Focus has an 8 speed.

I'd still prefer my Focus over a Kia or Holden (like a Cruze).

Hyundais are pretty decent now. What Ford wants for new Focus cars is a sign of delusions of grandeur.
