Sorry to repeat this, but I couldn't find the previous thread(if there was one :nutsycuck ).
I'm looking at upgrading the speakers in the Zetec. Would like to know more info/suggestions before I go ahead. For example what size and if it will make a difference with the standard head unit. Was thinking of adding an amp/subs as well. I don't really want to change the head unit as I only use the radio and AUX input (40GB iPod). |

All lower door speakers are 6" or 6.5". (I think its the latter) There is also a tweeter in the top of the front doors.
If your adding Amps, You'll need a high to low level converter, or an amp that can take high level inputs, as the stock head unit doesn't have low level RCA outputs to go into the amp. See my sig if you want any of this stuff... |

Well, first up thanks for the info.
For now I'm still trying to save the bickies to pay for it all. Can anyone tell me what (if it exists) is the best way to increases sound quality without replacing the head unit. I understand, speakers and cables are prolly a good start. Any other ideas? |

If you don't want to change the head unit I don't think there is much out there on offer. Really you need to talk to a car stereo person or someone at JB Hifi ....someone like that. They should be more switched on to what you need.

all i've done with mine is put 2 subs and a monoblock in the boot, once you take the bass off the door speakers they can handle alot more power without distortion, eventually i'll do them too but for the moment they're sweet as

Well I was thinking for a start to put splits in the doors and a single 12" in the back.
Does anyone know if there are warranty issues in regards to this? I don't want to cut anything |

For the sub you'll need high to low level line out converter for the amp, or a amp that accepts high level inputs. |
