Default Alot of work needed for this

Hey all i have an ed fairmont and im wanting to put an el handbrake in and im wantin to know what i have to do to make it fit.

ive been told it can be done but i dont know if this is true, u have to put an el center console in and put an el diff in and cut a whole in the chassis, not sure if thats rite or not

Or put in a fully sick DRIFT SPEC hydraulic handbrake..

I wouldn't mind one.. LOL..

LOL.. Probably.. Engineering certificate required... So already $700.. Plus diff and handbrake setup $500 - $1000.. Then manufacturing all of it into car..

Without labour straight up i guess at $2000...

I currently looking at converting to hydraulic handbrake which operates only rear.. Not sure how to go bout it though...

The EF/L handbrake setup isnt very good for drifting due to the drum-in-disc arrangement on the diff...its easy to break and/or wear down the handbrake shoes and they become useless very quickly.

Could you use an EF/EL lever, and just shorten an EA-ED cable? I haven't seen the guts of how an EF/EL setup works.

Welding the brackets etc. onto an EA-ED floor seems simple enough, and I'm guessing you could use a combination of EF-EL seat rails and whatever else to make it fit...?

Hydraulic handbrakes are under $100 at most race parts shops, and will last a lot longer than any steel cable will. Drifting with a handbrake is soft anyway, just go faster :P

if ya going to go to all that trouble for drifting, then put in the hydraulic handbrake. All the rally guys i know use them in their cars cause there better than the cable
