Just to confirm,

I mentioned in another post that the Shell refinery was down (Cracker), as my father in law works there, Shell do the refining for BP so that is why BP is affected also.

The Caltex refinery is OK but they are getting hit with people who can't get BP or Shell
So that puts pressure on their stocks.

The Mobil refinery is in Melbourne and that also supplies BP so VIC and the other states are all OK. Only a problem in NSW.

As a side point Shell are now importing all fuel from Singapore, and it is substandard!!!!
It is being passed when under normal circumstances, it would fail the test. The current batches are cloudy and will contaminate your vehicle. This is due to not wanting to lose sales and the contract that they have with Coles for the branded outlets. There is a non-supply clause that is worth millions!

At present you should stay away from all shell fuel regardless of it's rating, that also applies for BP. Only in NSW though.

Now I am just waiting for the zillion responses saying "but I've had no problems running on shell/BP for the last XXX Kms"

When my father in law who works there tells me he isn't going to use the product until it is fixed then I definately won't use it either.

And yes I have contacts at the oil companies.

You have been warned!

no problem staying away from my shell mt annan\narellan because they simply don't have any(98 ron) just head across narellan rd to the caltex\woolworths servo.

just one disadvantage with cal\woolie is that they don't stock auto action magazine so can't take advantage of 8c\L off on wednesday at end of discount cycle :
