I wonder how many weeks it will be before Holden resurrect the "Vacationer" pack :

They've specials and limited editions every couple of months. Must do wonders for resale value.

that may explain the few prototypes i've kicking around here in melb, then again not, since they where left hand drive. thought holden destroyed all of them after it was launched or that was what i was told by an insider. i reckon they look better than the standard ss, it still looks like a pontiac to me though.

News just to hand: "Holden will be making a series 2 special edition as spare bumpers and grills manufactured for the Ssangyong Stavic will be seemlessly grafted onto the front of all commodores as a way to clear the rising stockpile of more useless crap."

Apart from the HSV/GTO vented bonnet, I actually prefer the good looks of the regular SSV, but at least they have done something new to mix things up. Clearly this is a response to the FPV GS which I think I still prefer personally.

Holden's response to the G6 Limited Edition. Can't believe they're bringing out a Special Edition on the launch of a new model.

LPG fans are unfortunately only able to pick the 3.6 litre dual fuel LPG Alloytec V6 engine in Commodore International sedan guise mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

No photos of the new Commodore International are currently available, we’ve used a previous image which is almost accurate but is missing the SIDI badge. CarAdvice will update once photos come through.

I think the G8 nose looks 1000% better than the standard VE one. Its unfortunate they didnt bother integrating the Holden badge into it (perhaps it was too difficult design wise, not just the cost of a new badge)

LOL..I dont think fit and finish is a high priority for GM owners. Theres a guy across the road from me with a red VX S (not SS) with Chev badges....... :

I like the new HSV's.... As much as people dont like grills, vents etc These little things do set the car apart from the lower models SS,SV6,etc

Whereas i reckon every single FG looks the same apart from colour and Racoon eyes... I can bet my bottom dollar that HSV will still outsell FPV/Ford with the release of this new model

I think it would look weird. The grille was designed for the arrow shaped Pontiac badge afterall.

I like it more than the standard VE.. Hell there is no difference in VE looks wise from 2006 lauch to today... atleast everyone would know it's a new one :P

Holden went into a joint venture with Ion (from memory) to build an aluminium casting facility in Melbourne to make the block and heads, but when Ion went bust the project failed, hence they sourced them from Mexico.

You can't always believe what Holden say, most of the stuff they come out with is total crap designed to feed the bogan masses. Like the Commodore Hybrid thats supposed to be on sale next year. :

when 25 tonnes of billet goes their i suppose they make candy
aswell imorrt casting sand with the block
An aluminium precision-cast block, with iron liners inside it, is manually loaded on to the line
The block casting, which weighs 38kg, undergoes primary machining
Intermediate washing cleans the block and casting cavities are checked for leaks
Bearing caps are assembled before the block undergoes final machining to prepare it for the assembly line
Another high-temperature wash is performed to clean the block before cavity plugs are assembled
The block has a final inspection before it moves to the assembly line
A block takes about three hours to go through the block line and weighs 32kg when it comes out, 6kg lighter than when it was loaded

Crankshaft Line
Once again, where does it say they cast the block. It doesn't, because they don't do it. Machining it is not casting it.

It specifically says the block is loaded onto the block line. Where does the block come from.

I'll tell you, it comes out of a crate from Mexico.

Billet can be used for lots of things, such as suspension arms, engine cradles, rocker covers, timing covers etc.

Obviously they don't export crate engines, they just cast the block and heads. Thats if GM even do it, Ford uses an outside supplier from Mexico for their cylinder head and its possible Holden do the same.

Why can't you just accept that Holden do not cast their own blocks.

why cant you accept that they do??
and a sydney company cast for ford, holden, toyota. (all ancillaries)

lest just say mid november york linning will be converting line 14~26 (family II) when it finnishes on the ninteenth of this month.
