The Aurion V6 is coming next year ... but the engine is mostly left unchanged with only a few extra KWs from some additional ECU tuning ...

The big bit is that the TSA - Toyota Service Advantage - is now for 4 years, and stays at $130 capped per service.

However the service schedules is 9 months/15,000kms which only gives you 5 services over the period whereas other cars (Yaris, Corolla) are 6mth/10,000kms which gives you 6.

There isn't one.

Toyota are going to beat the Falcodore with a car that was known in the 90's as Vienta.

Modern synthetic oils last at least 15,000 km's and 12 months even in very high performance applications like a supercharged FPV or AMG Mercedes-benz.

Having to service a low horsepower Toyota every 6 months is laughable.
They might give you capped price servicing but they're getting you to service it twice as often as its needs it, therefore their so called capped price servicing is nothing but an additonal day's inconvienience.

Bigger and better than what v6?

The current one is 3.5 and makes 200kw and has plenty of poke. The SC TRD project failed and I would doubt any more performance specials will appear..

I was going along the lines of; they upgrade their 4 cylinder so they might upgrade the 6 cylinder as well....

The TRD project failed because it was a JV that was not thought through very well. It tried to get into the HSV/FPV market by offering technology.

That market is primarily about badges, numbers, emotion and tribalism with technology coming a distant second.

e.g. Nothing with a Ford badge will even be looked at by a holden bogan even if it was half the price and twice as fast.
In the same way FPV have proven that a lower performance V8 vehicles will outsell a higher performance T6 provided it has the letters G & T in the badge. All V8 FPVs without GT is the name have been slow selling.

Toyota are usually very smart in their product deployment which is why they are always up at the top in sales. Only a naive fool would underestimate them.

I don't underestimate them at all, I've worked for Toyota (dealers) for the past 6-7 years.

The TRD Aurion wasn't a bad car to drive at all. Sure FWD sucks, but from a daily driver perspective it wasn't bad. I think at the end of it they were running out sub 50k too, and their resale now isn't all that bad either.

Toyota didn't design this car for AFF members.

Toyota designed this car for Ethel and her friends.

And it should be a hit with them !

Let me guess. You work for Toyota. Not even Brazen supports Holden this much.

I'm generally negative at Toyotas products where appropriate. Yes I do work as a Toyota sales man so it's natural that I'm going to be a little biased towards them at times but what else do you expect?

From : Go Auto...

Based on inside information and official brochure images that first appeared in Japan’s Holiday Auto magazine before being published online by Brazilian website Noticias Automotivas, this exclusive rendering shows the next Aurion will again share most of the Camry’s body design, including its roof, glasshouse and doors.

Again, Aurion will be visually differentiated from Camry primarily by fresh sheetmetal forward of the A-pillar and rear of the C-pillar, plus a new grille and larger bumpers, resulting in longer overhangs at both ends.

Echoing its more upmarket interior – which will feature an all-new dashboard design – the Aurion will feature slimmer, more angular versions of the current model’s rectangular headlights rather than the next Camry’s less conservative new headlights with scalloped lower edges.

According to leaked information from Japan, the Aurion will be just 10mm longer overall at 4825mm, 5mm wider at 1825mm and the same height at 1470mm. Wheelbase remains unchanged at 2775mm, but rear legroom is said to have increased by 15mm.

No official dimensions have been revealed for the global Camry, which will also continue to ride on a 2775mm wheelbase, but if it grows substantially from the current model’s 4815mm overall, it will be virtually the same length as the Aurion.

Either way, Australia’s ‘mid-size’ Camry and ‘large’ Aurion will continue to be mechanically differentiated by their front-wheel drive powertrains.

The Aurion will remain powered exclusively by a circa-200kW 3.5-litre DOHC petrol V6 (2GR-FE), with the Camry again offered only with four-cylinder petrol and petrol-electric hybrid drivetrains.

The Mondeo is the 2nd highest selling car in the medium class behind Camry, and the reason why they probably didn't have one to compare the Camry too is because it would show up how poor the Camrys steering and handling are compared to it.

They are the dullest, most boring hunks of junk on the road today, and I would never even look twice at it, but then again i'm not over 70 with a purple rinse and a cardigan, and I do have a pulse, so i'm not its target market.

Toyota would be smart if it offered a 2.0 GTDI engine like Falcon, Taurus, Passat, Sonata, Optima. People keep wrongfully saying that the Japs are ahead of the game.

Granted, but at least the new model is streets ahead of its predecessor, that's all I can say about it. It doesn't mean I overly like it, or would buy one, but it's better nevertheless.

If Toyota's relationship with BMW goes ahead then it seems like this will be a definite possibility..

Anyone actually driven the current generation camry? Had the misfortune of renting one to do an interstate run after missing the last flight, for only $110 with no interstate location fee. Torque steered under hard acceleration. Surprisingly the overtaking performance was quite decent and the 2.4 was able to sustain quite respectable speeds down the backroads. Gutless at low revs but when you put the boot into it, I reckon it would give a stock E-series falcon a good run. Not bad for 2.4L.

It has a 2.4 litre 4 with maybe 120 kw and it torque steered. lol

Shows how puss the chassis must be.
