My 523/555" Lunati should be in this week for my Xy's new heart, back on road again soon,
& it's been said here before so here goes again.......the more greenies there are is a good thing, means there is more fuel for all of us with real engines to burn....god bless greenies.

Here's my contributions. My weekend warrior Mustang named GDDYUP

And my daily driver affectionately known as The Ratty.

GDDYUP has a reasonably worked 351 Windsor with some very loud 2 3/4 inch dual pipes running an fmx with 3k stall and 3.89 gears.
The ratty is a mild 351 clevo with tamer 2 inch dual pipes for street use and a 4 speed single rail with highway gears.

My dirty, stinking, thumping old V8 can go from Sydney to Brisbane on one tank of juice, so it ain't that much of a gas guzzler..
Ya have to own or have owned one of these dinosaurs to "GET" what their about, that's why there's so many clueless peeps around who dont "get the passion".

By the way dosen't those Prius type buckets of pooh cost way more in environmental footprint to build than just about any other car?
And what about when their at the end of their life? all that nasty waste..

Its taken 30+ years of fuel injection ,ECU's, computers, plastic, turbo"s ,superchargers and 6 speed gearboxs to compete with the old school N/A v8.
Torque wins races and Horsepower sells cars. And v8's have the torque, the sound, and the character of there own.
Besides the only thing that should come in 2 litres is MILK and
ORANGE JUICE........

I love the feeling of rolling up to the lights in a big cammy 351 and seeing all the heads turn... I love the way you give it a little rev and the shaker flexes like a living muscle and the whole car rocks from side to side... I love it when you change up gears and the tail hits the floor and the nose points at the sky...

That view, that view!!! I still remember driving my mates XYGT many years back. It was our wedding car (grooms car, the bride turned up in a 351 Fairlane Marquis).

True about the Prius...when you tot up all the incidentals of production from raw materials to finished product to cost of running to expected service life, a Prius is actually less environmentally friendly than an enormous Hummer H2...

New V8's are amazing...the old ones can in no way compare to the power and efficiencies they are getting out of new engines. The old ones are great, but the new ones are a lot better and we should be thankful the companies even bother making them for such a small percentage of buyers who choose a V8 these days.
Most buyers look at a Falcon for example, and if they do bother to ask about the power output, will say "If I can get 270hp out of an NA 4ltr six, why spend the extra dough on a V8?", and if they need to tow a big boat or horse float, they go for four wheel drives, not a V8 Falcon or Holden as they automatically would have done thirty years or more ago.

Enjoy them while you can, and enjoy the old dinosaurs which will probably be plugging along a lot longer than modern V8s...I mean, can you imagine a modern V8 with cylinder shut down technology in ten or twenty years time after a lifetime of half-assed maintainence by who knows what standard of owners and back yard mechanics...

i had a mad run with a purple P76 Leyland in my old V8 XT
We were beside each other slamming third until i could pull away and take the win

It had stripes down the side GT-like and the name Targa Florio on the side. I think they were a special item because my XT was no slouch back in the day. This was on a private road, like the private road you rev your blown car on Hulkster of course

yep i luv it. i have several and enjoy using them as a daily driver. i luv the smile i get everytime i fill up with 98 premium. i enjoy the pleasure i get driving my 5.8 litres of cast iron with fuel spilling out the rear pipes. its glory. i luv idling next to hybrids and rattling their doors.
i also luv driving in peak hour traffic.
i luv being in a 1982 Falcon with a 351 Clevo V8. Luv the fumes. I want more. I also luv the anti social nature to it.
