Mate I hear you. As a life long Falcon fan there have been many things Ford Australia have done which maked no sense. How I managed to remain loyal to them when so many others have fallen of the bandwagon is a mystery.

10% of Fords problems have been a shift in the market, 90% is simply from being too far removed from the public. They have noooooooooo idea what the public want. 90% of it is 100% their own mismanagement.
I'm guessing they don't go on the internet or read what people say so I don't know what's the point of us all whinging which is in our own way just trying to help. But it's not working.. How hard would it be to get rid of one bland colour x on the line and replace it with yellow or red.. I mean it makes sense to have some different things to cover your bases. 8 shades of bland may as well be one shade of bland Cars like the Territory cost a lot of money you should at least be able to get exactly what you want. |

This whole soccer mum thing gets up my goat. We have a Territory and an Escape as well as a Focus and I or my missus ain't soccer mums. Just because we choose to buy new cars that suit our needs at the moment is no reason to be painted with the soccer mum brush. We do live in the city but come from the country and get out there a bit as well as towing boats and jet ski so how does that make us a soccer mum. Sorry but a sedan just doesn't cut it for us at this point in time.

The last person at Ford who knew what people wanted was the late Geoff Polities. His many years working in the selling game made him very knowledgable. Hence why Ford Australia bloomed during his reign.

Dont understand how parts can take 3 to 6 months to arrive through dealer warranty claims, yet one click online, deliver in 7 to 14 days! And they suck! Lol

The F6X offering was dismal for the $$$ and it's fate was sealed as a failure when released.
It needed an aggressive body kit, flares and big wheels at the very minimum, it got none of that..... Basically it needed to be in your face. |

another option you could always buy a new terri and send it to one of the tuners to get a blower or turbo fitted, i`m sure you could find one that would do the job and supply with a warranty as well.

I take offence to the whole "soccer mum" term.
For goodness sake, this is Australia! Surely the terms "Footy mum" or "Cricket mum" or "Netball mum" would better suit. LOL! GK

Yeah its a bit silly how ford do things, they are about 90% there and knock on 2m before the line.
You think at the very least they would do a FPV version of the terry, strait up the AFP and police will buy them who are still hanging on to their 6 year old turbo terrys. Surely the marketing alone from it would get more trickle down sales and pay for the program by itself. They need to take a leaf out of holdens book, the VF commodore winning Daytona was a stroke of genius and now all the kids in the US will rip the chevy and Pontiac badges off and put a holden one on.

Yeah end of the day the Territory is more specifically than a falcon a mum and dad family car. Colour selection doesn't need to be huge for that market. They had performance variants but sold bugger all, there's do point keeping something that doesn't sell around just for the one or two people that do buy it. Same reason Ford didn't bother sourcing a motor for an XR8 once they put together the Coyote.

The more i think about it........the more confused i get about Ford Australia.
What i dont understand is Ford have stated (and the sales figures are the facts) that the SUV segment is more important than Falcon. So why is Ford blitzing us with awesomely crazy combinations with FPV vehicles based on a sedan that has annual decline AND YET their stronger seller has no performance variation??????? Does not make any sence. Compare the two varients and their respective sales and tell me how it makes sence for: FALCON XT, XR6, XR6T, G6, G6E, G6ET, GS, GT, GTP, GTE, F6, F6E with 7 different engines between them. TERRITORY: TX, TS, Titanium with 2 different engines and 2 different drivetrains. As others have said, previous Turbo Territory was good, but the FPV F6X was a flop. Most people could not tell the difference between the two. Considering the fact that a majority of the Territory's parts are Falcon.........dont know why i cant buy one.

I agree... The F6X was a poor test pilot, doomed the day it was released simply because of price alone. I think the should have kept one performance variant territory, based on the XR6 turbo, sports trim, front bumper, 19 inch rims and a few other bits with the option of luxury pack.

Thunder if you want more features then wait for the update next year. Unfortunately engine choices wont change (in terms of a hipo version).
At the end of the day the TT didn't sell enough. Diesel is volume seller in base and titanium models (funny enough TS is a bit of a fizzer) so that were the money is for Ford.

i suspect probably the biggest killer for turbo terri petrol would have been fuel consumption , no doubt it would still be rapid, but there`s no getting away you have extra weight, and you if you use the horses it will use the fuel accordingly.

I know I will be flamed but the Titanium should have as standard, side steps, electric tailgate, electric passengers seat, radar cruise control, etc etc its in the Focus/Mondeo so why not in Titanium. The Titanium isn't really a luxury SUV but it should be...

I think an fg xr6t donk in territory in normal driving would get better economy from simply needing a whole lot less throttle tha n/a 4.0. BA spec donk in previous turbo territory no, but fg spec turbo donk i reckon win in every area.

If you really want it bad enough than buy a new petrol titanium rwd and drop in a new xr6 turbo motor. would not be that dear and with all new parts would remain as reliable as any new car. Ford will still honour warranty on everthing else but the drive train which is pretty solid anyway. The rwd and FG Motor will ensure better than SY 4x4 Turbo fuel economy any you will have a truely unique car. Just make it happen.
