One of the nicest looking Fords too these MK2 Fairmont Ghias. Sister has a black one with the cream leather. Wonderful car, would have loved one as a daily driver

They're both top of the line luxury models of Falcon, of course you can compare them.

We recently had to decide which to sell between our 08 G6E with 180,000ks and our 02 BA Ghia 5.4l with 150,000ks. Just had to keep the Ghia, love the way she drives, sits, and looks, the leather is still excellent compared to the G6e. Only issues were drive shaft bearing, some small vacuum hose on the engine, roof lining is coming away a bit at the sun visors, and hand brake is a bit dodgy. Put a BA GT steering wheel on it for a nicer feel, a/c is stil icy.
I like the ride of the Ghia better and the stereo is better than the G6E Not bad for almost 14 years old, can't let her go.

I have an identical car
Owned an EA S-Pac, EF Ghia, EL XR6 and now the BF II Ghia. It's definitely one of the best looking Falcons for sure. I bought mine 2.5 years ago with 90,000...now up to 190,000 as I drive 170km a day. But just like you on the highway, if I maintain speed limits, I'll get well under 8l/100km. On my commute of mainly highway and some town traffic I avergae 8.5-9l even driving it pretty hard. The ride is super comfortable, it goes hard for an I6, and the cabin still holds up well by todays standards. I maintained a build thread for quite a while, with all my small mods etc: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11402480 A BF Turbo exhaust is well worth doing. Idle is super quiet, gentle driving is also quiet, but under load it has a subtle but angry roar, and it improved fuel consumption in the process. I'll be pulling the diff out soon to do the diff bushes and some of the suspension bushes. It's been a very solid reliable car, requiring little maintenance. But funnily enough, I'm thinking of selling it and buying an FG II G6E Turbo...the update is just too tempting for me now...
