pretty much, alot tend to let it go between 4000 and 6000rpm, up here at WSID, they tend to get too much wheelspin leaving the line, YES wheelspin.
my mate was running last night, the fastest 60ft he could get was a 1.9 which is slow for him still cutting 12's. Alot of them may be modified but that dosnet mean they can be driven properly, alot are too scared to dump because of fear the box will be left on the line so they usually slip the clutch alot or take of easy then step on it. I usually race them and see what speed I get to before they pass me. lol |

the ute cost me 13 000 2 years ago and ive spent just under 6000 on go fast mods since. But to be fair when u think about what they get for their money in mods compared to some of us, it seems both are getting pretty similar performance gains for the money spent.Mid 15secs-low 14s and low 14sec-mid 12secs. Both about 1an a bit sec gains.
I try to be unbiased about these things so when we sit here an bag ricers i think of what they must be saying about us...NAH THEY GOT NOTHIN |

my r33 gtst cost me 13k, so they are not that expensive and you do get a bit more for your money in my opinion except for the lack of room.

Yeah, one of my housemates and his 82' Celica. He's always wanting to race me but I'm not into the whole streetracing scene. If he wants to lose his licence, then that's his problem. He's not going to drag me into it.

I love comparing acceleration rates between the vct and certain other jap imports. Most recent being a newish 200sx. Now you think turbo vs 4L, and to be honest he only *just* had a run on me. car with 3 asians in it, one with a lappy.
Good sports about it though, waved at me as I went past Other than that, i've taken my mates R33 GTS-t on, him with better clutch (brass twin plate jobby) and a better-than-stock intercooler, and I absolutely cained him. Skylines are boats. That simple Skylines are the ricers XR6t, sure they are good and all but every ИИИИs got one and they arent really that great And yes, civics are always good for a laugh. N/A, 2 litre, 90kw ricer jobs.... what the hell are they thinking..... I for one love the XR6 and I'd hate to think how its gonna go once I've started work on the engine |

i get harrassed every day at work, everyone of my mates is a jap car freak or a commodore fuk-face. but ive kept up with a r33 which looked pretty sweet, black carbon fibre bonnet, gold wheels, front mount zorst, from 65 to 140ish we were dead even twice, the third time i couldnt drop into first. also kept up with my mates r31 coupe with r32 rb20, front mount, zorst, ems computer, and dead even with a rex.
they might look good but dont go anywere too fast, some are ИИИИn insane ill give you that but it all really comes down to drivers. Ehab

Had a bloke in an EA GT pull up next to me at the lights, he revved, I shook my head (no) and he gave me a thumbs up, we both pulled off normally, went pass the speed camera I had seen coming the other way about ten minutes early, and we both hammered it, just pulling past then backing off etc...
He gave me a big thumbs up as I turned off onto another road, thats good old ford mateship there... but ricers... hmm my ex had these neighbours that own an excel which is dropped on its nuts, big rims, HUGE like 4 inch cannon, that blue mesh stuff everywhere... sounds like a whipper snipper without a muffler... lol

I've raced a mates R33 down the strip, and off the line I owned him, but just before the line he passed me and kept going like I was stuck in 2nd :( This was only 1/8 mile though.

A stock standard WRX driven to death by a car magazine yes.
Did you go through this thread with your eyes closed? Have you ever been to a drag strip and raced? Car magazines don't count as drag racing.....

Its funny to listen to all the chat about ricers, back ten year ago I would have probably been classified as a ricer with the first 3 cars Mazda 808 coupe 1.3L, Mazda 808 sedan 13b standard,Same Sedan with 13b Bridge/J port. But back in my day I would ascertain my chances if the car I lined up against was a possibility of having a good dice with I would go for it if I knew it would kik my *** I wouldnt, but then with the Bridge/J I took on all and defeated all, Including my brother who had a 14 second flat consistent ZC Fairlane(beat him bad) ,he didnt like it and rebuilt his engine and came out and beat me not by much.
My little brother is an example of a good ricer he has a black lanos the big exhaust and huge amount of stereo componentry in it big wheels graphics but he doesnt race it he is in the car show scene he's been in Autosalon and he know it has no power. But yes there is a lot of tossers out their now and I get a good laugh every day I drive its quite amusing. For the record my brother with the ZC fairlane got it down to 10.89 natural over the quarter. |
