Plenty do it, I was amazed at the prices of some GT's until i read the details in the ad's only to read "lookalike". One add I saw for a GT-P didn't even say that, I only realised when I looked at the photo of the dash! It's still alright for around for around $7k, looks a million bucks and from the description would probably handle pretty well too. With a manual, it'd have plenty of go to get you into trouble!

A 97 EL Falcon with an XR6 bodykit, GT wheels & some suspension mods. The wheels are probably worth $1000 - $1500 alone.

I think that EL with the GT rims must be a GLi.
He's gone and got the xr6 dash badge. doesn't look like he's got front power windows but, which the XR's come standard with. Also doesn't have a clock in the dash above the headunit. Hard to tell if it's got cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, i don't think it does though

I thought i found the car of me dreams...now...i dunno. So angry. All i want is a good Ford that has good looks to turn heads and get the ladies, but in return be very powerful. whist coming within 7-10 g's. Maybe i can mod this Gli to enhance its speed. And be honest guys....would you want to be seen driving around or be embarssed in an xr6 lookalike? or would you just se eit as a mad body kit.

I used to have an EF GLi, lowered, rims, zorst etc. no kit on it, but it got it's fair share of looks.
It could be fun to do up a GLi, you could add things onto it from other higher spec models to make your GLi a bit different from all the rest. It's a personal choice mate, all depends what you want to do with it. The exterior is the same as an XR apart from the wheels, which are bigger anyway.

Well i know i definatly wasn't embarrased to be driving a base model Falcon, and im sure there's a lot of other guys and girls on here who have base model falcons that they're proud to call theirs.
I think that EL looks good, im a fan of the colour and the rims go well with it IMO. All i can think of is clear side repeaters to finish off the exterior

omg relax dude were just posting on a forum we dont want to be rooted
lol the xr and the gli/futura have ИИИИ all power difference like 4kw the only difference there is the diff which you can get from the wreckers and a good extractor/exaust / cold air will see in in front of stock xr's!! havong said that a manual is the only way to go and theres nothing wrong in driving around a mock up if its done right |

dont forget insurance if your eighteen your insurance will be bad anyway but once you mod they will root (lol) you even more Im selling my XR for 10,000 and there are plenty more for the same cost around
eg stock xr will be cheaper to insure by heaps than modded anything else I think |

Dave23 - I promise that there is no conspiracy to stop you getting a new car. Apart from the dubious way he titled the add, everything we can see from his comments and the photo's looks legit.

that last link you posted, its a gli with a XR body kit and front on it, if u see inside there is no front power windows, the XR's where based on the futura with of course tickford motors. It looks the goods tho, i prolly be inclind to pick that one up and thro a good zorst on it and basic intake mods and diff (3.73 or similar). And bingo it would prolly stay with a XR6 or beat it)without the insurance premium.
