Not wanting to be a spoil sport... The Island and Sandawn are very quick tracks and one mistake can be very costly (There was pic pic of a Peugeot 205 doing the rounds here I think that had a small rolling problem at the end of turn 1 at Sandown.. . I would suggest that Winton be the better choice then Calder. Winton is a good track for those that have not done it before and it is fairly hard to hit any walls there.... Calder is the next best with 1 fast straight... as apposed to Sandown and the Island...
Remeber your insurance will not cover you for damage on a curcuit.
thats my 2c...

I think the club has to have some type of licence to race at a track.....not sure but someone might want to check on the Calder Park site or something...I can't be bothered :yeees:

Bingo! Yes you can run the cars under AASA but costd more to hold the day due to the public liability insurence.
To run under CAMS, you must have a CAMS offical and the cars must meet CAMS regulations. As well as the club to be CAMS registered.

You will not get much change out of $4000 to hold a track day under AASA at any venue.

This is why I have given up on doing any track days until the Club is registered and we can obtain CAMS registeration.

Great idea, thanks for putting me down Jared lol.

- Most track days allow you to buy CAMS or watever licences on the day.

- Everyone should have a go, drag racing is one thing, but running laps is a whole new game. Dont worry about how ИИИИ your car is, this is the E-series club, odds are that there is anohter one that is more crap.

You can buy a licence on the day, but the club you are running under must be CAMS registered.
Also the cars must meet CAMS regulations. ie tailshaft loop, 1kg Fire extinguisher mounted on a metal bracket in the ИИИИpit.....etc
Don't underestimate what needs to be done to track race.

It really depends on the where and who.

I know of quite a few runs that didnt have those requirements. Dosnt mean they arent a good idea though...

Due to all the insurance/CAMS/rego issues, how about we have a track day at Karl's farm?
