I was going to try something simliar to this one day with au lights but never get the money or chance to do it. The legal side is bit of a turnoff as well.
Those look reall good though, how far off are stock ba lights from fitting an ea front end. They look simliar design but im sure some bonnet/fender hacking might be recquired. |

the guard will need to be cut due to the difference in blinker of the BA headlight, the hole in the EA where the headlight sits is too small, and the radiator also gets in the way of the lower adjust point on the back of the BA headlight, the bumper bar will require a fair amount to be cut out to allow the light to fit in as the BA lights are taller under the surface despite how they look, the cutting would also mean the fibreglass bumper support would need major cutting as well.
So all in all the amount of hack work was not worth it on my daily driver, if I had a spare wreck to hack and test on, I would be willing to give it a shot and re-consider.

we figured out why the headlight body is so large the other day, ford have used the same body for EVERY barra car, sedan, wagon, ute, XR, Territory.
the territory lens is huge compared to the falcon one, covers the full height of the body... every car has the exact same reflector though.... |

Yes Wayne i meant insert, and outback_ute I think you are talking about the wrong part like I did, the reflectors, i.e, the shiny bit with the globe are all the same, the inserts (the bit thats infront of the reflectors) are different for the models and are either chrome or black.

XT, Futura, Fairmont, Fairlane and LTD have the same lens, with everything bar XT and Fairmont Ghia featuring a chrome insert. XR and FPV cars have a different lens and insert to normal falcons and territory has a different lens and insert again. ill add, i think i need a new job, i have wayyyyyy too much headlight info stored in my brain. :ticking: Last edited by LUXO_8; 01-03-2005 at 08:02 PM. |

So the next job is a EA/BA coupe? Two doors would look pretty sweet.

Looking good there indeed. That has got to be one of the most interesting, unusual (both in a good way) EAs around. Well done!
