Thank you for making the same point I made, hopefully people understand YOU when you said it. All they seemed to think I said was they wont know what a Monaro is. My simple point was the F6 is not offered in the UK nor Europe, so I would doubt that they would test it. And if you swing your way over to nissan.co.uk you will find that the Murano is indeed offered there.

Im not 100% sure what market segment the F6 would slot into.
It's physicaly bigger than saloons such as BMW330, C230. and it's quicker than the 530i's and E350's But its LIGHTYEARS behind E55, M5, RS6 etc. It's price would put it against 3series and C class' so it may prove to be a vehicle with no home so to speak.

They drive/test a huge array of cars, past and present. The fact that they now have access to it is the point, thats all, and if a simple email can notify them of the fact then great. But you never know until you ask.

Didnt it say in the article that the brit guy was going to make an ettempt to import them. This might be the kind of advertising that he needs.
Ignore the negativity, good on you for sending the email. |

Well if it is mush bigger than the mondeo then i cant really see where it could fit into the ford lineup, if they had a luxury model then maybe but i am not sure, I think it was a mistake with vauxhall importing the monaro, and i think i am right in saying that it has been axed.

Looks like theres a few FPV's in the UK. I wonder how many are there and what build numbers. Would be interesting to see it on Top Gear. They love the Monaro. I reckon they will love the F6. Good find and great letter to Top Gear. Lets hope they take notice.

It wouldn't be the first time they tested a car they can't buy in the UK.

The UK don’t have any performance Fords! Do I doubt they will bother with this.
I was there 5 years ago and walked into a dealer and requested their best performance vehicle. They walked me to a Modeo, I laughed and said “Serious, I want to see what you have in fast Fords, forced 6 or v8” The salesman said they don’t have any…. So I told them I was an LTD owner back in Australia, could I buy some thing similar there? He pointed to same Mondeo…..

E55 = 4.3 to 100km/h, 12.5 1/4 M5 = 4.5 to 100km/h, 12.5 1/4 RS6 = 4.7 to 100km/h, 12.9 1/4 F6 Typhoon = 4.9 to 100km/h, 12.7 1/4 (both AFF sourced, best times for stockers) And it won't be far behind, if behind at all, in the handling department. I've driven an E55 and a BF F6 auto... I'd definitley have them compete.

I have emailed winding road to try to get them in there already as well (both HSV's and FPV's). Have not heard back from them either, hopefully it will just show up in the magazine

the brit guy must not drive it hard with his 6second 0-100 times and the quater time as well. i dont know about a 4.9 second time but ford has stated that the fastest quater mile time they got from any car was a typhoon with 5.3

Yes, while the ST220 is a brillant car its just not in the same ballpark.
Its like the Vectra, great car, really good. Would you buy it over the pleb 3 series? Nope. Steffo, when did you drive a E55? While I think it is outclassed by those, at the end of the day I think the money and the enjoyment would proberly lean the F6's way. Which is why clarkson was won over by the Vauxhall Monaro. Actually Clarkson has always spoken of HSV's in positive light. |

Why not suggest a down under special? they feature cars that are built all over europe and the US. Rather than try to get a F6 to the UK, why not bring the top gear team to Aust and let them drive everything we have to offer?

That would be good, but then they couldnt take it round their track and most of us are probably more keen to see how it goes there.

Good email, I think you would have more luck if you provide an email address, and we get as many people as possible to email them. If we bombard them with say a couple hundred emails, hopefully one would get through. Thoughts anyone?
