Reason why there have been no adds probably has something to do with the fact that nothing has changed.

If there are no adds when the XR4 comes out then Ill be ****ed. Although Ive never seen a XR5 add and they are pretty much sold out.

Hey?

The XR4 is a great car, the stock Fez's handle pretty damn sharply, the XR4 gives the Fez exactly what it needs, more power.

Cause not everyone wants a V6 or V8 for compensation.

New age car buyers under 30 are after a small/medium car that provides what they want under a budget. XR5 and XR4 is this car.

Just remember Ford has a very rich history of good small cars, escorts (RS's), Lasers (TX3's).

There is definately a market there, plus eveyr model needs its halo car. Falcons have XR's, it props the image up.

Lets not turn this into a sh|t fight.

Id happily own a RS Escort, and if thats a chicks car then so be it! Pass me a skirt!

sfr rob: I wouldn't be talking mate, your the one thats obviously compensating by owning only large cars. If you have a tiny knob thats your problem don't take it out on others.

Another thing that may be holding off the XR4 is supply issues. The Zetec has a waiting list now, XR5 has a waiting list. If Ford can't get its hands on some ST's they won't have the opportunity to sell them here

its sad how people have to put cars down to feel bigger. im not a small car fan but the fez is an awsome little car and makes it makes sence to have it available as an option to people.
just because people by are fez does not meen they cant afford a larger car. if they really wanted a larger car they could just by a second hand one. i would rather by a brand new fez then a mid 80sfalcon but i cant afford that.
i think comments like girls cars is ridiculous. a pocket rocket that uses little fuel is a great car to have and should not be considered as a girls car. the fez out manuvers cars more then twice its price. i hope they bring the xr4 soon because it will be a great seller. small cars are good with fwd but it would be nice if they made it rwd. then it would see true performance.

For some people it's not about budget.

Small cars can dance around tight twisty roads that big cars can't. There's more to life than drag racing in a straight line.

If they brought it out here I would snap one up for my missus in a second. She has a Zetec now with only 7,000km on it but it would be gone in a heartbeat. The Zetec is good but the 2.0ltr would only make it beter. Plus it would look great next to my FPV. Used to have a Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI in europe with Mi16 (All Alloy 16v 1.9) conversion and there is nothung like a small car with plenty of poke to bring the grin factor up.

And when was it that 'most thought' it was going to be?
It's a car that would boost numbers, that's for sure.

All these comments about a girls car... really, c'mon!
Take one for a drive, then comment.

A 'drive' isn't just slam through the gears from 0-100km/h either.

Well it had better be a great deal sooner than that!
It needs to be here well before June 30 to prop up dealer sales with the continued slump of territory and falcon sales.

Captiva and Camry will be a tough fight.

i would say that if FORD were to bring it down under, they would only bring it down in Frozen white, Sea Grey, Performance Blue, Colorado Red, Panther Black & Moondust Silver. I would think that the stripe package would be available in blue, silver and white. I would think that there would be partial leather interior, DSC, ABS with EBD, Side thorax & side curtains & air cond standard. but that is only a guess if ford decides to bring the car to aus which if they did might happen around june 07

For the benefit of all of you who don't venture into the Fiesta/Ka section too often, QLDxr posted the following in this thread,

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...2&page=4&pp=25

"Guys - I can CONFIRM that the XR4 will be here in Oz.

I used to work at Ford R&D in UK and when I was back in Blighty last month I was chatting to the B-Car Development peeps as they were performing some engine cal. changes to suit the (cr@p) Australian fuel.

I have driven many Fiesta ST's (coded B257ST in UK) as part of my role at Ford R&D. If anyone's driven the Focus ST170, then they are very similar.
Anyone thinking of getting the XR4 and modifying the engine, think again. The XR4 used the 5-Speed IB5 transmission and is on it's limits. The engine calibration limits torque in 1st and 2nd gears of the XR4 to prevent the G'box from spitting cogs - known as Torque Truncating.
In the UK, there are many aftermarket Co's with bolt on packages to get the 2.0L up to 250hp (Exhaust, cams etc) - just a shame the G'box won't cope!"
