A while back it was bullbars, this week it's towbars. Next fortnight it will be 4x4's. (He reportedly drives a Subaru Outback 4x4, A soft road 4x4, but a 4x4 none the less)

It's just one big attention seeking circle for him.

Bike Racks/Towbars are there for a reason! If you walk into them, it's your own fault!
Yes, some towbars can be easily removed after use (Hayman Reese if I recall) but my towbar on my Falcon won't be coming off anytime soon.

Before he starts all the bullbar crap again, maybe he should take a drive outside the Sydney City Limits. Then he might actually get half an idea of what things are like in the real world.

I could go on for hours, but it's been done before!

Cheers

Darran

Probly the best option is to ignore the idiot. Like many of these people with too much free time and an unrealistic opinion, the less said in response the better. All people are doing is generating more exposure for the guy.

This is correct and has been law for the past 15 years or more.

You are not allowed to have anything protruding from your vehichle, this includes towbar tongues.

How many people do you see driving around with a towbar with the tongue attached and the ball is all nice and shiny.

I'm sure they have never towed anything with it and probably wouldn't know how to anyway

Ok lets see how many people have been fined for having their "Tongue" out. I have started a thread asking this question.

You're right. Scruby is a 1st class jerk, but has not been in the news lately so in true political style he comes on with some BS about towbars and presto ... he's back in the spotlight.

Like Outback Jack, I e-mailed him (about his uneducated attack on the Typhoon) and his reply was so stupid I felt compelled to answer him and tell him what a F/wit he is. He came back at me and said he'd identified my computer. I told him big deal and to GF and jam his stupid comments up his ... where they would meet his brains.

More than half of those tow bars are being used. What does this mean? Everyone that wants to transport bicycles is going to get a fine for doing so? (I'm referring to the ones with bikes attached)

Yep Conrad , without going to look at the pics again m I'm just reading of my notepad (this is rought)

10 of the 30 photo's taken are by "the driver following" - Illegal
12 of the 30 have bikes on them ,
5 approx are parked near Park areas , where kids would ride their bikes ,

Most are a joke , I emailed him and he wouldn't reply because I wouldn't supply my "silent" phone No , of cause you have a Silent No" so you can tell everyone what it is " : even signed it with my full name , but he wanted to "check me out"

When walking through the local Coles carpark this morning, I decided to have a look at the towbars on the cars. About a quarter of the cars had towbars of some description, all of which had the tongues on.

My tongue does not come off. The whole bar is one piece, solid as a rock as it needed to be along with electric brakes. It passed RWC, never had a problem. Dont see why I should have to fork out for a new one because some clown cant watch where they walk.

Maybe someone should ask for a grant to fully cover the cost of replacing the towbars already fitted to vehicles to ones that are easily removed. Lets see him balk at the prospect of having to get funding of the grant. No way Im paying for someone elses stupidity.

Its just another one of those political stuck up morons who sit around all day deciding that.."well i don't need a tow bar, lets make life hard on everyother poor bugger out there that uses one"
The world these days is becoming pathetic in regards to some laws that are out there....anyone agree?

Scruby again ? If you look at any 4WD forum you'll see him mentioned there a LOT - he hates us fourby owners (sorry Harold - a prius is off road)

Well, I don't think they do.
Firstly, the pedestrian council is comprised of... Harold Scruby.
Oh and he has a secretary. And a web site. And that's about it.
Who he DOES have the ear of is the press, specifically A current afair / today tonight - and we all know what standard of professional journalism they pump out ! I'm pretty sure most people in government know EXACTLY who Scruby is and why it would be electorally disastrous to support any of his hare-brained schemes.

Oh, that was cathartic. I feel better now !

years ago I also sent details, even a phone number, but he accused me of being stupid - I questioned why he was is concerned with freeway speed limits when pedestrians were banned from them?

Ask him what he does about pedestrians jay waking etc - supports Police booking them, but rarely sends out a "Press Release". Ask him why over 70% of accidents involving peds are the fault of the ped? he never responds. Even stats from the RTA etc don;t assist.

Sadly there is no such "Preparation H" for Scrubby....

Even though that letter regarding tow bars is from 2004, I thought it fitting to send him this (it's about as mature as the BS that comes from his mouth :P).

You're a wit.

Sincerest regards,
Shane.

Towbars hurt like hell when walked into, but you've gotta feel dumb for doing it.

Aerials are very dangerous too, get a nasty welt. Most dangerous of all must be revision mirrors, something that unnecessary should be outlawed too. People want to outlaw everything, don't give 'em your time. It will only annoy you.

I was just thinking (damned amazing for me) ,

I wonder how "Legal" it is for this "Person" to photograph a persons car Then place it on a public Internet site ? I bet he hasn't got "written permission" from those people involved .

Any of you Legal based people know how he stands doing that ? could that be close to Defamation

Harolds a 'cause' bloke, remember his activities with AUSFLAG - the change the flag mob.

With road stuff, television media will drag him out for his 'opioion and views' such as when a 4WD reverses over a kid.

In the past organised 'walk' events such as that done by RTA and so funded.

He advocates for NSW that we remove our three warning signed at all fixed camera sites, etc blah blah blah....
