This happened AGES ago, on Main North Road just as you leave North Adelaide (or the city) ... .. it wasn't a salesman nor was it an apprentice, and nor was he racing a commodore! he was originally going the other way (heading into town), and he's gone too do a U-Turn at the Gap in the Midium strip, the traffic's clear up so he's floored it, lost control and went straight up the curb, through the fence and's wipped out the front Row of Stillwell Hyundai!

A waste taking out a light pole, he should have taken out a speed camera for the full 10 points.

How far from the break in the traffic island to the yard did this happen?

the carnage and state of the car where it landed suggests that he attained some serious speed to end up where he did. If the island break was right next to the yard, I would be thinking there was not much hope of getting that much momentum to match that carnage.

I doubt very much that it was an apprentice mechanic. No apprentice mechanics I know are allowed to test drive customers cars let alone a high performance one. But very impressive pics. Best thing that could have happened to the hyundai IMO as well as the Magna and what looks like a Commodore. Three birds with one stone.

the break in the island is bout 50 to 75metres away. ive seen the video footage from the business across the road, and it came straight up main north road, not doing a u turn (u can see the island break in the footage)

also the witnesses (salespeople) confirm the car came out from north adelaide, not doing a u turn. Not to mention other witnesses say they had seen the same car moment before racing through north adelaide

How long is ages ago? I know the person who was in this accident, and they claim it was last November. This is what they said:
"A statesman clipped us - XXXXX lost control and we ended up there."

The statesman kept goin, and was later charged with street racing and leaving the scene of an accident. The driver was charged with street racing and dangerous driving, insurance didnt cover the accident. 12 cars on the stillwell hyundai yard were written off. The driver had minor cuts and bruises, and his girlfriend walked away unharmed. The ute just missed (by less than a second) a employee of stillwells, walking to her car.
She (the driver's gf) conveniently left out the bit about street racing :S
