Usually the people who bag the marketing can't afford to buy one anyway.

Good post 4VMan

Good post 4VMan
people that bag anything ford do can't afford to buy. there's another few examples in a couple of other threads regarding the wagon. a lot of people saying what ford should do but when it comes time to put up, they go missing.

it is a great ad though.

Saw it during the cricket today finally. Quick and to the point. Reasonable effort.

The only thing missing, though, was a reference to the supercars.

Yeah yeah, they did say that we won the championship this year, and showed a trophy going into the boot of the XT, but it would have been nice to see the new FG race car I thought.

I know it would have been a bit misleading showing the outgoing model, but there is still an FG race car parked in Ford's garage.

Still, it does follow on with the level of 'tameness' as the first few ad's for the FG.

It seems we're great at bagging Ford, but all's quiet when they do something "good"...
I think that if you look hard enough, the entire forum has been quiet for the last three days, not just this topic.

Seems as though one has to watch the cricket to see the ad. I havent been watching any cricket so I havent seen the ad, so I cant comment on it. Hence no post from me.

If its a good ad, how about Ford show it during some other programs as well, perhaps in the evening, to get a wider audience ?

Edit: Just watched it on youtube and it does look good. Now Ford needs to show it at other times as mentioned above.

Yeah its called christmas and it usually happens every year
btw half of the people bagging ford (inc. me) are not trying to bag them but we are just getting ****ed off about how much of a good car the FG is and they should show it!!!

The ONLY criticism I have of the ad is that with the G6T thing i think they should have said "the carsguide car of the year and the carsguide peoples choice award" although I understand there is only so much you can fit in 30 secs but other than that 2 thumbs up

Great add and well done, great car the FG but I cant convince the wife to get one. She is obsessed with SUV type thing but atleast she is considering a Territory after I made her go to the local Ford dealer and drive one... women do not watch cricket unfortunately, they are the one's who need to know how safe this car is

Haven't caught it yet on the cricket but just watched it on YouTube. This is a good add and gets to the point without being overly cocky or in your face.

There are a few more awards (such as NZ awards and XR6T Ute etc) that they can tout if they want so hopefully there is more to come.

I still think the Focus ad is the best where they nail the Corolla, Mazda etc (the ute ads are also always great for a laugh)

If Ford ever decide to market their perfomance vehicles, it would be good to re-use the line from an old John Goss commercial "theres a little bit of Bathurst in every Falcon".

They'd get sued for misleading and deceptive advertising......

I'm not sure what would happen if Ford made a Falcon ad like this...

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=DQHneKVtsbo

But then again, they better not as their marketing isn't aggressive and Holden or Toyota would quickly retaliate to that with, "We sell a lot more vehicles than Ford, so that means we're better".

Saw the advertisement for the first time literally just then.

Was good. No BS or marketing spiel. Just the raw facts.
