IMHO it was the best combination that Ford has put out in years. I would go as far as to say that the new colour range is boring. I saw a new G6E on the road the other day and it looks hideous in real life. the lines of the new front just don't marry in with the rest of the car.

Here's a couple of pics to tease you more
Still looking good G6ET. If I'd spotted that colour in the flesh before I ticked the 'Ego' box, it would've been Velvet for sure. I've seen a couple of FG's around wearing Havana, which I think looks quite nice. The only other colour that interests me is 'chill' whatever that is. It'll be one of those two next time around.

I agree - I checked out some FG2's at the local Ford Dealer (Denmac Ford in Darra) the other day. First time I have seen one in the flesh. They had about 6 or 7 FG2's in the yard. XT's, XR6's & G6E's.

They were parked right next to some FG1's that were obviously being runout.

I just do not like the look of that horrible big black plastic grille. It looks so cheap and ugly. Even with a numberplate fitted over it it would look crap.

The FG1's look so much better from the front .. just what were Ford thinking of when they redesigned the front end this way?

As to dropping Nitro? WTF? This "IS" the Ford Colour. If I can't get a Ford in bright blue I don't want one.

Looks like I will be waiting until FG3 to upgrade. Lets hope Ford come up with a front end that dosent look like a Mazda/Focus/Whatever. XR6 Falcons need to look tough not poncy.

Huh?

The FG2 looks way tougher than the FG, definately upped the aggression a notch.

FG owners trying to justify their older model by rubbishing the new one.

But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I prefer FG2... Looks much fresher!!

Especially the GS, colour screen an F6 dash spears dress it up nicely, and that new front bar!!

I've got a FGI G6ET, saw a FGII G6E for the first time on the weekend and I like what they've done.

I am not justifying my older model by rubbishing the new one mate. I just don't like the design of the front of the new FG2 looks compared to the FG1.

I don't have to justify to anyone why I went out and bought a 2010 FG. I got one because I am a Ford man and always will be and because I like the looks of the car.

I am not rubbishing the New FG2 at all. It is my personal opinion to dislike the front on looks only. From the side and rear it looks great. The interior is great. The new EcoLPI Gas model is fantastic and would be what I would like to upgrade to.

If I wanted to I could go out and buy one right now, but I won't because I think they have spoiled the looks of the car by sticking that big ugly black plastic mouth on the front.

Some people might like it, may even love it .. but unfortunatly not me .. or my wife by the way.

My 2cents worth .. Not rubbishing the car as a whole.

My mate hates the new FG2 front end, still wanted to buy a new Falcon so purchased the FG2 and purchased a FG1 front bar for it. That way he has the best of both worlds.

Actually the dealer organised the bar replacement for him, at his cost of course.

^ ***** that. What's left? Might as well get a series 1 runout way cheaper than having new paint on a brand new car (and paying a huge premium for it)

I was wondering if anyone would have thought about doing this. Sort of an FG1.5 lol.

Would it be possible if you could actually buy the Front Grille from FPV and install it to the FG 2 your self ?

I prefer the FG1 as well, but don't mind the FG2 XR models.

The only stupid thing they keep doing is adding more tacky fake plastic chrome and even worse is that the dam in the bumper is becoming too large and looks ridiculous. A bit like a drain and many enthusiasts as well as non-car people have been put off by this as well. The mouth is just too big!

I must say the FG2 G series looks waaay better in person than it does through pics.

Swift GT looks ok, needs gold stripes and a boxing kangaroo motif

Yeah, bummer FPV have really cut down on stripe combos. Cannot get gold on Swift.

The stripes are not on a ID plate are they? So you could go to a sign writer and get a custom set done?

I dont know why FPV are so narrow minded, surely they could create a relationship with a good graphics company and get colours on demand...cant be that expensive for stickers.

sure can, we've done a few custom kits for customers before. Sometimes people are a bit funny because it isn't "factory"

Pastel Lime/green colour being evaluated, looks pretty hideous to be honest.

Is on a Territory, so hard to tell what it would be like on the sedans. Not like toxic, hard to explain, I just know I didn't like it, at least on the Tezza.

Makes total sense putting this colour on a Territory to be evaluated
