Don't mean to sound like a naysayer but I can see this ending in tears. FG doors on a BF would have to be engineered and certified, then there would be a myriad of issues with fitment and sealing etc etc. Remember, an alteration like this would cost Ford tens of millions of dollars, it's no easy feat. Best of luck with it anyway.

Why not buy an Fg G6E and take it to a limosuine builder and get them to stretch the car 20-30cm. Instant G6E Fairlane. And all the front end will still work as it should. Extend,fuel lines, some wiring to the boot, tailshaft, new headlining, modify rear door trims and longer floor carpet. Done?

That would just look like a 760li bmw. A longer boot and squarer c pillars with rear quater glass is kind of the fairlane style

Looks like Op was last active in 2016 so it seems he may have moved on.
I hope he didn't end up cutting up what sounded like a clean Fairlane, only to be overwhelmed by the scope of work required to deliver the desired result. Did anyone ever hear what eventuated? |

Slightly o/t, I was hoping some genuine internal drawings, renders etc of the FG wagon etc might have made public once production closed. I don't think they even looked at a Fairlane when work started on FG.

No, they didnt as there was no long wheel base. But doesnt hurt to dream eh. Someone will build one, as they did 2 door XE's, EB's, AU's, BA's and that FG. I too would love to see a wagon, maybe with a Jag rear end or even a Mazda 6 rear.

But it wouldnt be a long wheel base car, which is what a Fairlane/LTD always has been. Our platforms were so versatile, with the wagon variant that allowed that formula to work.
I prefer to play with the FG and see what if... : )
