Speaking of rare fords, got today the latest issue of unique cars, and some guy selling a R-SPEC GT and according to him or FPV its the only white with black strips made, i doubt it.

Just because it's rare - or the last one - does not make them desirable.
Lets not forget that the reason that Fairlanes/LTD's were deleted was because nobody was buying enough of them. Sure - it's a Brand new car - but really who is going to want to pay $75k for a 6 year old brand new car? Does the new car warranty still apply - or is it outside it's period? Will the person who buys it - actually drive it? Because if the answer is yes - then why wouldn't you go and spend $20k on the BEST one available that has been driven - and get the exact same experience? Quote:
After all - only about 3,000 were sold in Australia, so at the end of the day - they are rarer than an XA Falcon Coupe! (bear in mind that a little over 4,500 XA Falcon Coupes were sold - and I'm not talking about Fairmonts or GTs either)? I wouldn't think so. Sure - it is the last one - but is that really a big deal? Who's got the last XY GT? The last XB GT? The last BF GT? And are they any more valuable than the one that was produced before it? I don't think so. All the best to the seller - i'm sure there will be a buyer eventually.... but I doubt it at $75k.

Well - the last of the HO GT's - of course... It was a one off that had plenty of media coverage and news about it - I don't remember the controversy of the last LTD on the front page of the paper (or the back, or anywhere for that matter).
There are plenty of other low number - limited build cars that will possibly become valuable in the future... Though - it is unlikely to be a Fairlane. 70s ZC/ZD Fairlanes with factory 351 T code are worth a pretty penny - but only because of the link to the relevant GT Falcon. Where I was going though - is just because it was limited build / low numbers, doesn't necessarily make it collectable. Tickford TL50 / Fairlane Concorde / Silver Monarch / LTD Cartier / Brock Fairlanes... All limited edition / rare Fairlane/LTDs.... Not exactly Blue Chip stock investments though.... (and I'm not bagging the cars - I'd actually happily own all of the above mentioned models - just not for $75k or anywhere NEAR that).

XY GT's are over 40 years old & I'm not seeing any priced accordingly. People caught wind of how much one silly bugger is willing to pay & it started from there.

I know it's probably not worth the 75k the bloke is asking, but the last ever LTD... with the 6 speed auto... with the 5.4L V8... In EGO... with only 3kms on the clock... thats a pretty special car no doubt about it

definitely a lot of money but to be honest that's a very, very unique car and is brand new
i wonder what condition the heat exchanger is in though! Wouldn't be fun to drive out the door with a 3KM old car and have the ZF lunch itself down the road.

Poor fitting ugly dash mat on a $75K LTD is SEX !
Where do I sign ? Throw your $75K toward a R Spec, it will inevitably be more collectable over time.

Not unique?????????
Find another NEW BF LTD with 3km on it... It would most likely be the only one left, can't get more unique than that, it is a collectable, FACT!

If it is in FACT collectible, why hasnt a collector brought it yet? A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I dont think there is many people with $75k lying around that would throw it on this car.

3k's will remain on it if you don't drive it ...... and for 75k I can think of many more things I would rather buy just to sit and admire without actually using it. That's also just an opinion!

Time will tell! That thinking would have to mean that no LTD is collectable... ( I would agree $75K is extremely dear, but it depends on why the dealer is expecting.)

Beautiful car, yes.
Worth $75k... Probably not. The problem is that it only has 3kms on it... So no one who would actually want to buy it to drive it will. It's meant for a museum, but who's gonna buy it to do that?
