Just because it's rare - or the last one - does not make them desirable.

Lets not forget that the reason that Fairlanes/LTD's were deleted was because nobody was buying enough of them.

Sure - it's a Brand new car - but really who is going to want to pay $75k for a 6 year old brand new car? Does the new car warranty still apply - or is it outside it's period?

Will the person who buys it - actually drive it? Because if the answer is yes - then why wouldn't you go and spend $20k on the BEST one available that has been driven - and get the exact same experience?

Ah news flash, look at the most desirable collectable cars. All wanted because there is bugger all of them & no-one cared for them at the time. All now fetch crazy prices years on...... Maybe not this early. But the time will come.

So by the same theory are you saying that the 1996-1998 Ford Taurus will end up being a sought after collectable?
After all - only about 3,000 were sold in Australia, so at the end of the day - they are rarer than an XA Falcon Coupe! (bear in mind that a little over 4,500 XA Falcon Coupes were sold - and I'm not talking about Fairmonts or GTs either)? I wouldn't think so.

Sure - it is the last one - but is that really a big deal? Who's got the last XY GT? The last XB GT? The last BF GT? And are they any more valuable than the one that was produced before it? I don't think so.

All the best to the seller - i'm sure there will be a buyer eventually.... but I doubt it at $75k.

Well - the last of the HO GT's - of course... It was a one off that had plenty of media coverage and news about it - I don't remember the controversy of the last LTD on the front page of the paper (or the back, or anywhere for that matter).

There are plenty of other low number - limited build cars that will possibly become valuable in the future... Though - it is unlikely to be a Fairlane.

70s ZC/ZD Fairlanes with factory 351 T code are worth a pretty penny - but only because of the link to the relevant GT Falcon.

Where I was going though - is just because it was limited build / low numbers, doesn't necessarily make it collectable.

Tickford TL50 / Fairlane Concorde / Silver Monarch / LTD Cartier / Brock Fairlanes...

All limited edition / rare Fairlane/LTDs.... Not exactly Blue Chip stock investments though.... (and I'm not bagging the cars - I'd actually happily own all of the above mentioned models - just not for $75k or anywhere NEAR that).

If it is in FACT collectible, why hasnt a collector brought it yet? A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I dont think there is many people with $75k lying around that would throw it on this car.

Unique ... yes ..... but not everything unique is collectible and not all opinions are fact so don't get to excited there

3k's will remain on it if you don't drive it ...... and for 75k I can think of many more things I would rather buy just to sit and admire without actually using it. That's also just an opinion!

Collectable, of course to some but for me only the P5's and LTD Cartier would be in my collection ..... probably my 2 favorites but then again, some people collect buttons

Worth $75k... Probably not.
The problem is that it only has 3kms on it... So no one who would actually want to buy it to drive it will. It's meant for a museum, but who's gonna buy it to do that?
