F6 often surprises. Think it'd go down but it'd give the GTS ute a fright.
I liked the E series Maloos but the plastic has just gone too far for me in the VF. Way over styled for a ute rear. Beauty is in the eye if the beholder of course. That said close your eyes and it's still a helluva ute

In 2006, Holden racing hero Mark Skaife claimed the Guinness World Record in a HSV Maloo. After two high-speed runs at the Woomera rocket range he set an average top speed of 271.4km/h, a record which still stands today.

That rates with the stunt at the Nurburgring. A record set against what and not overtaken as no one actually cares, but great marketing nonetheless.

Good on hsv for having a crack with this new maloo tho! Would've been nice if Fpv could've put the 351 in the pursuits. I'd be happy to have any of them in the shed tho!

If I had the coin I'd buy one of these HSV's. Always liked the Maloo and the extra puff would make it just that little bit nicer.

http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/f17/ram-...-record-59387/ Still I'd have the SRT-10 over a Maloo any day, being second fastest "truck" in the world is good enough for me (or third now) : 8.3L V10 out of the Viper, 6sp manual, nuke the whales/death to the environment type vehicle, 26L/100km driving normally on a good day. That's what you call going out with a bang, Ford could learn from this, but it's all too late.
And for the toss pots who keeping saying F6 this, F6 that...Go buy me a 2014 F6 ute with zero k's on it...Oh that's right, you can't!

No Trolling here... If you actually read all my posts before you commented, I actually said I would choose the FPV over the GTS anyday, but that's my taste. I also said I was happy to admit I was wrong if that wasn't the case and it seems it a lot of cases the GTS is underperforming in that measure. In my original post I said what I said as I had talked to 2 blokes (One a colleague who owns a GTS) who had both theirs on the dyno and got more stock then they thought (apparently around the 370rwkw mark). Now I don't have proof and could be a case of blokes exagerating. So again, i'm happy to be wrong. Nothing would please me more than to own a GTF and stick it to the commodore crew.

Lowest I've seen was one of teknos customers, dynoed at 308 iirc, then after a cam and tune it was somewhere close to 400kw.

I can't post links on my iPad but just look on utube.....I certainly wasn't looking for it so it can't be hard to find. From memory the lowest reading I've seen was a street machine video. it was just above 280rwkws and from memory there have been another at 288rwkws and a couple in the high 290rwkws region! Plenty just over the 300 mark aswell. I was actually surprised a little when this latest official unbiased dyno test got such high results for the GTS. Edit.....quick search found a 288rwkw vf GTS. Search utube....bta motorsports stage 2 vf GTS. I honestly think people in Australia just get BRAZiNWAZsHED by holden. I would DROP DEAD if my 430 badged hsv dynoed in the 280s Last edited by 1TUFFUTE; 15-08-2014 at 10:44 PM. |

Really...who gives a toss if it is the "Fastest ute" .... Stupid really.. What's the speed limit again? Besides, isn't a ute supposed to be a work horse?

Or maybe the holden doesn't really make 430kW?
All speculation and IMO holden would've been better off badging these things with a 3 as the first number and selling a 4** upgrade.

Who knows, they only way to really find out if the motor has 430kw would be to put in on a engine dyno

Fair chance it doesn't but the post you've replied to/under also says bta have got 335 gt's making around 260rwkw. When/how often have you seen that happen?
I love my fords but I'm not that one eyed to skip part of posts that suits me. I think the gts is a good car (not sold on vf looks, ute looks alright tho) showing what can be done when they've got the cash but no I don't think they're making the advertised figure either. I'd take a gt tho

Everyone seems to believe herrods dyno figures from the recent retest, and those figures do indicate pretty close to 430 at the engine.
Bigger diff etc will soak up a few ponies over a normal diff so a bigger drive I've loss shouldn't really confuse so many. |

And they will stick chev badges on them and still call to the fastest Holden ute.
