The LS400 took it right to the German players (Merc S Class & BMW 7 Series) and proved that they could no longer dismiss Japanese luxury cars and now had to work hard to raise their own standards. The LS400 was also the worlds most refined car.
The MX5 was the fun car that had been unavailable since the 1970's. It had all the characteristics of the MGB's except that it was reliable, didn;t body flex and the roof didn;t leak. It's one of the funnest cars have ever driven. I highly recommend you guys take one for a spin and see how good the handling is for yourselves. |

I will say this quite simply, E-Series as a general car like any other will fade into the background. ONLY Special models ever really survive to "classic" status. Normal HQ's, XY's, XP's etc rarely are restored to original. There will always be the modified old school cars (read 20+ years old) but in ORIGINAL RESTORED condition it is only special models like GT's, GTS monaros etc. And if people cant afford the real thing they make replicas out of the standard cars. How many replica GT's, replica Bathurst Monaros etc. are there around compared to Originals.
E-Series will never be classics as a model as a whole, only the specials such as GT's and Sprints.

Ahem, the 3 cars Arv mentioned were all contenders for Car of the Century. All dramatically raised the bar in their respective segments and sent the European competition back to the drawing board.
We're lucky if a few Australian cars get sent overseas at all, let alone changing the world. A small cult following and a bit of respect gives due credit for the Falcon's place in Australian history. |

yeah, the GT's and the original run of 'S'XR6's will become legends, not as recognised/wanted as the XW/XY, but respected in their own right.
The EBII 'S'XR6 are already damn hard to find in NZ, in fact I've only ever seen one and that was in ChCh as I was driving past in my EA2. Would still like one (EBII SXR6) though...

I agree sort of.. All cars when they get old are classics , Value.. well thats the differing variable..
E series will one day be a classic old shitter falcons (as apposed to new shitter falcons ) Just certain ones like the GT's, and thier brothers ( FBT's, Sprints ) will be sort after. |

this 'fudge' dude's obvously brain-damaged. Who the hell does he think he is coming in here and talking absolute CRAP!?! And what's with the constant use of the word 'mate'? Does he have terets (not sure of spelling) syndrome or something? Besides, I thought this post was about the likliehood of E-series becoming classics? Which they (at least in regestration terms) as anything over 30 years old is considered 'classic'. As for my opinion, i posted that earlier.
