Toyota have the 0% finance back on the Camry, they are really pushing their local models hard.

all this talk about 'supply issues' and then a couple of posts later, a discussion on ranger 'missing out on critical sales'!! can't have it both ways. ranger isn't missing out on sales if they are selling all that they bring here. if Ford only allocate 2500 units for australia each month (give or take) and they sell all of them, then i don't see the problem. could they increase their market share with better availability? no doubt they could. what if they upped the allocation to 3000+ units per month and then had excess stock?? i know which situation i would prefer. its not like they are the only manufacturer with a waiting list on some of their cars either. with the segmentation in the market i think ford would be very happy with their progress over the last few months. they have increased their market share month on month. the imports are great products and doing well. |

At 148 a day, it is a higher number than the theoretical 2960 a month Ford are building too.........

With 6 down days in the 3rd quarter and a possible 7 more in the 4th quarter I dont think Ford have much hope of maintaining these numbers beyond this month, but it was a good result anyway. Might have helped clear a little excess stock.

Yep, the locals came back to life last month as did Focus, I'd say it's a good result given the news last month.
maybe sparking a bit more interest in Falcon and Territory is just the thing to kick sales along a bit..... In America Ford has what it calls its super segment, Fiesta, Focus C-Max, Escape and Fusion. Ford sees a lot of cross shopping iwith these models and all seem to benefit from the others. Maybe FoA could do similar but with Fiesta, Ecosport, Focus and Kuga in a united showroom.. |

Opposite to what I expected; Could news of its impending death have made people realise what a great product it is?
More to the point, that was the first full month post-announcement, good to see sales didn't start to taper off.... |

why just look at falcon sales in isolation? everything was up. end of financial year is the reason. nothing to do with falcon buyers coming out of woodwork etc.

So you think the announcement didn't have some kind of impact? FPV dealers were reporting increased interest from collectors so there was. Also, your 'everything was up' point doesn't stack up; Car sales in general have gone up over the last few years yet local model's numbers have plummeted.

I dont think we should be using FPV as a yard stick for anything related to the Falcon status to be honest.

2012 June May Diff % Change
Falcon 1431 1008 423 42% Ute 619 584 35 6% Terry 1800 1280 520 41% 2013 June May Diff % Change Falcon 1169 707 462 65% Ute 620 462 158 34% Terry 1574 1139 435 38% Think it's pretty clear that while sales are down YtY, there was more significant change MtM for falcon. 2011 was 39% MtM for Falcon and 28% for Ute. |

Seems all this talk of Falcon has put it in people's minds, any press is good press. I'm sure the bubble will burst (if thats what it is), but as I said, this is very contrary to what I expected would happen. Just a thought anyway. Last edited by FalconXV; 05-07-2013 at 02:16 PM. |

If it holds this number next month then it will be more then EOFY. So July figures will be indicative.

It's been a busy month and given that I have a normal day job they have to wait until time permits.
