The W126 S Class Mercedes Benz. Released 79' (Coupe released 81')

Consider what else that other makers were offering in terms of shape back in 1979 when these babies came out, in particular the next generation S class (the boxy ol thing Diana died in) and its amazing to note that this lovely shape vehicle is so old. Definitely still looks classy and expensive to this very day (560SEC Coupe in the pic above)

I have to say the first time I saw the BFII Fairmont Ghia I thought it was the best thing ford had ever released. A couple of years on and I'm not really a fan, I think the design looks out of place now.

I'd have to say the E36 3-series still looks very current, I think it helps that the life span of a BMW series is more than your average dog. (a full decade with a touch of overlap)

I'll also add in the EL Ghias, both fairmont and fairlane (probably biased though).
I think they would still get a heap of business as a limousine.

And of course Toyota Supra, looks far better than the last incarnation of the celica :.
I'd still love to have one if the opportunity presented itself.

The Fairlane model that came out during the AU run. Saw a nice one today, driven by an old guy.

another vote for the 3rd Generation RX7

it is almost 17 years old now, with only a few cosmetic changes made from 1992 to when they finished making them in 2002.

one of my favourite cars ever

I still love the BFII Ghia, looks heaps better then the reg b-series design.

Funny enough I had the SR next to a VE last night at the servo and when I saw them side by side the VE was terrible.

But everyone has their own tastes.

Thats not a fair comparison.
Park the VE next to a pile of bricks and that will be a more level playing field.
BFII Ghia still one of my favourite Ford cars

it all depends on what condition its in. 90% of VS you see on the road look tired and crap. But the very few neat examples you still see getting around still look great for something that is based basically on a VN.

Most of the older Ford and Holden Muscle cars have aged well. The XD design isn't exactly striking or futuristic, but damn I still think they look mean.
FJ Holdens when neat still look awesome.

Nope, the AU Fairlane was the first one to have the same model designation as the Falcon.

My bad, I guess it was never officially titled the NU. I have seen it referred to as an NU Fairlane in misc sales advertisements online and in print.

I don't necessarily think they are a good looking car. It's just in my eyes they seem to be getting better with age. I don't care for the VZ...

re ford, i have to agree about the au's
never liked them to begin with & swore i'd never own one, even went & looked at buying a vx exec supercharged x factory car at the time & only left it cause it was an executive..
ended up with a series 2 75 anniversay au ghia even cop comments now from strangers about how its one of the nicest au's they have seen..
everyone hated em when new, but alot have changed their minds over the years..
re holdens, vx ss - standard.. by far the most gracefull one of the lot

Defiantly the EA,doesn't look its age at all.
I think all AU's have aged well...park one next to a VT...2 years into it's model run it looked like it was designed in 1990.
AU Fairlane/LTD...timeless styling.

I have always felt that the EA/EB/ED series have a great timeless modern shape, not overdone, not underdone, just right.

Has anyone mentioned the Datsun 240Z:

Lexus SC400 / Toyota Soarer:

Porsche 928, probably not to everyone's taste:

The Nissan 300ZX still looks great as does the RX7, the AU2-3 range has aged well (especially in liquid silver).
