Well the excitement got to me so went down to the dealers to so me car before i pick it up on tuesday. Thank god i did. The f....n thing is damaged. It has dent on the rear passenger door and near the fuel cap. Also the knob that put the number plates on his damaged the car with the screw driver and grinded the lip above the plate away in 2 places. Sorry small scratch on rear bumper as well.

Excitement has now diminished and I am in no way taking delivery of that motor delivery. Its f...n terrible.

I guess by my tone you all know that im not a happy camper. :

It is things like this that leave a sour taste in your mouth with the dealer with what is supposed to me a exciting/rewarding experience.
If you didn't go down and have a look I wonder if you would have ever known (assuming it would have been repaired before you picked it up)???
Maybe get him to get you another one and keep that one as a demo until it arrives is one thought...
Keep us informed on what the dealers plan is.

Im speaking to the manager whom i purchased the car of on tuesday. Im sure they will try to convince me that they can repair it but im sure not taking a car with that many problems. My hyundai for $20k was delivered in perfect condition you would think a car that cost nearly $50k would be spotless.

keep you all posted.

I actually saw a Mondeo wagon today. Stranger still, it was a TDCi with 16" wheels. Was still U registered (Victoria). Pre-sale mule perhaps?

They will repair any damage before it is delivered, and they won't tell you unless you know it happened by seeing it first. There would be a few cars out there that have been repaired and the owners know nothing about it.

Unfortunatley for them it was ready for delivery and they had no idea the amount of items it had wrong with it.

The bum fight will start tommorrow

Couldn't agree more, i've worked for both a Holden and Ford dealerships and in many cases new cars are more like used cars, not new!
Most XR6s and SV6s type models have spoilers damaged in transport from the factory.
My job was to pick up scratches, dents and scrapes before delivery.

I'm still waiting on rear mud spats, carpets, a bonnet protector and a towbar. Takes a long time to get stuff.

Did over 800 kms over the weekend, and average 6.5l/100kms. Pretty decent.

They should employ you because they well and truly cant pick up a thing.

Your correct, the amount of damaged new cars i had to send back to pre-delivery was shocking. It's like some in pre-delivery are plain blind or ignorant.

Question for existing Mondeo owners. Can you tell me it has the Park Heater function? I got the dealer to give me a manual till I can pick up my car next week and when it shows the menu functions for the HMI it talks about the park heater. But no where in the manual does it explain how it works. I have a copy of the UK Mondeo manual and it does explain how to use it in there. But I am unsure whether its a miss print or not and it's included in our version of the car.

It's not a big deal, but it would be handy to have in winter.

Cheers

There is no parking heater function on the Australian cars as far as I can see. A glaring omission from my copy of the manual is Bluetooth - Voice control operation with no instructions in the Aus version while the UK version has 26 pages most of which is applicable.

You just need to get your Dealer to supply a new one for you, they should be able to replace a new print 2 version under warranty, or at marginal cost.

Has any one got an idea of servicing costs for the TDCi? I've tried to get it from my dealer, and he said that it isn't even an item on the Ford computer system.

And I'm still waiting for my accessories, and a tow bar (another thread).

I noticed last night in traffic that my A pillars are covered in a different fabric from each other. The driver's side is the same as the roof liner, but the passenger's is covered with a more velvet type of material. GRT046, told me his were the same.

Any one notice any difference? I think the two are quite different.

Cricky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : That's a bit of $$$$$.

When will FORD take a leaf out of Toyota's books and incorporate free servicing. OK it'll be in the purchase $ somewhere.

Is this for the TD or petrol or Both? Surely the TD will be cheaper??
