Do ford Australia actually employ any Australians? No wonder they are shutting up shop, all the big wigs are from the US.
The falcon looks like it has nice headlights, Hopefully there is something behind them. Everest looks cool, doesn't look to have much cargo space tho. I guess its competing against Pajero and Prado etc, which are similar, why not give it something the others dont have tho so there is a reason to buy it over the others, we all know it wont be because of the price. Would be nice with a 5.0 in there. |

Anyone expecting a global reveal of the Mustang here is fooling themselves, the car is an American icon and it is appropriate the global reveal is in America. Every other market is just along for the ride.
For the same reasons it is appropriate we get to see the Everest first as it was developed here like the Ranger.

I think it was well done. A little disappointed about falcon. But understand they can't till they have to. Love some of the new tech coming in on new models. The Mondeo looked fantastic. Like the transit, love the everest. A bit to look forward to. From what i saw of falcon, it's going out with a bang.

I watched the Ford live broadcast of their future offerings for Australia. A few Americans came along and said that we will be happy with their new offerings and I guess expected us to accept that the AUSSIE car is DEAD.
They raved on about the fact that Aussies had a hand in the design of the Ranger and we should be proud of that? they showed the kuga and some new thing called an everest but NOTHING about something to replace the Falcon. There was the up beat talk about all NEW Fiesta's and Focus's and Mondeo sedan and wagon but nothing for people over 5'10" and more than 80kg wringing wet. A mention was made of the new Mustang that we will get in RHD but I am guessing that this will NOT be a huge seller as it will be TOO darn Expensive. In America the Mustang starts at $30,990.00 US for this one but I am sure that by the time it hit OZ the price would start at about double +. There would STILL be industry protection on imports and we would end up like NZ paying PREMIUM prices for imported cars, so sad. RIP Falcon. Thanks Ford, you have done this: |

Wasn't expecting the Mustang reveal but at least a little detail other than RHD - ie high level specs eg is it coming as 4, 6 and/or 8 etc would have been nice.
Ditto Falcon and GT - given nothing was said I am expecting the worst and no GT in 2014 model. Given how lucklustre the crowd was, imagine the cheers if a GTHO was promoted. Finally why nothing on Motorsport? Clearly Ford aren't listening to what people wanted to know about - or are listening and don't want to answer or even acknowledge. Of all that, not sure what is worst. And Everest? It was a concept. How close is it that what will eventuate? Sorry Ford - if you were seeking to inspire me and retain my custom I am not feeling it. |

From what I did see of the presentation, it seemed like 'Falcon' was a dirty word and dirty image. Hardly saw anything of it. Along with the territory (based off the falcon) it has been one of Australia's truest engineering achievements and deserves at least some recognition.
I got the feeling that not one of them really wanted to say too much about it, because nobody wants to be seen as having committed anything to actually seeing a 2014 model.... I really hope I'm as wrong as can be, as from the teaser image above it might look alright. |

I can't believe someone in this thread said they will never buy a Ford again, because of this video!
No matter what Ford comes up with, someone will always be there to whinge about it. |

Falcon looked hot, much nicer than VF front end, wouldn't be hard to look nicer in the rear than a VF as well.
Looking forward to seeing more of it albeit for a short time only! |

When is Ford going to learn how to connect with the Australian public?
It's certainly not Ford alone I work for a US company and we can't help but giggle at some of the US shows put on internally. Decent show but didnt form a connection with me as a consumer or enthusiast.
