No reasons not to do it just dont go lower than 1.5 inches. If you go lower it will most probably scrape as soon as you have weight in the back. I don't have a wagon but mine cost$500 and it has king spring superlows.

I lowered mine using 38mm (1.5") lowering blocks in the back, and massaged XR8 ute front springs. Sits nice, handles well, and even with a full load, is still comfortable. I did all the labour myself, so the whole job was under $200.

This is it fully loaded on holidays earlier this year:

To get reset leaf springs (stage 1 Pedders is a good height), and new front springs is around $600 in parts, plus labour (probably around $400).

I lowered mine
super lows up front
rear springs reset
front brakes replaced at the same time
it cost me about $1000 (mechanic did the work)
the rear is a little higher than the front which allows for loads or towing

From memory I think he said the reseting of the springs was about $300

if you dont want to reset the stock leaf springs, you could use lowering blocks. If you take a look on eBay, you can get the front springs and blocks for under $200.

Problems depends on how low you want to go. symptoms could include scraping over bumps, up driveways, or rubbing on the guards around corners.

Lower suspension will generaly give you a firmer (harsher) ride, but thats contrast with improved handling and a lower center of gravity meaning less body roll - this is something to keep in mind if using lowering blocks, as they wont firm up the ride so can make it easier to bottom out as opposed to resetting the leafs.

If you plan on towing heavy boats, caravans, horse floats, trailers etc, dont go too low, or you may find you cant tow anything!

Other then that, the lower you go, the better you look, but the more you attract the boys in blue.

^^also, depending on what size wheels are on the car, you can't go too low with lowering blocks as the lower suspension bolts hit the wheels, i think that's the problem people have encountered anyway......

In terms of cost, can you do some of the work yourself??

If you are interested, I've got a set of reset leafs from my wagon sitting in the garage.

At that height do you have many issues with scraping things? Particularly with a load in the back?

Got any pics of it side on? How much higher is the back? I was thinking of going super lows, and then get the back sitting level, but am worried it's going to struggle with loads.

at stock hight, the rear of the wagon sits about 1 1/2" higher then the front. how low you go also depends on what roads you travel frequently and what (if any) kit you have on the car. i found at stock hight, my TS50 front bar scraped on a few things if you didnt get the right angle over the speed bump/drive way, so im only lowering the rear 1 1/2 to level her up a bit. i dont do any towing, and if theres heavy loads, i have a ute

I was quoted by a Pedders to lower the wagon front and rear to XR height all up was $600.

Hope that helps.
