Unhappy Door locks

Poor design once again from Ford or their suppliers. Methinks actually the suppliers.
You have only one button on driver door which indicates your doors are locked. Happy that your cars locked ?...... Don't believe it ..... now try and open any back door or the passenger side front door...... Does your doors open?? They just may do so ....Tis in the actuator of each door....... There is inside an extremely bad design mechanism that snaps ..... A white nylon gear wheel bout size of 50cent coin moulded in centre of the gear wheel is approx 3mm diameter spline/shaft about 40mm long....walla it snaps. Why wouldn't it. It just can't handle the physical load .... solution:
No you can't buy the part...You have to buy the whole unit. Great ....In the meantime you only think your doors locked.
Recommendation: make regular inspections to ensure that all your doors are locked when you lock the car.

Heat up a pin, and drive it back down the little shaft, or drill it out (finely) and glue a pin in. Easy fix.

If you're lucky enough, you may be able to find a replacement part - I did, but I think it was a fluke!
