Default Ford Is In Trouble- 400+kw Supercharged GTS-R At Melbourne Motor Show

Taken from *MADLS1* at LS1 forums.

From Motor Magazine. Who knows if it's true. But if it is then ford will probably take a back seat in publicity.

Who cares ?

Its as butt ugly as the very first GTSR, and this one will go down in history as the most expensive Bogan mobile in history.

I wonder how close to production this one will make it before the accountant kill it. Just another limited run that will most likely never happen.

It's just a photoshop from Motor's point of view considering what the VS GTS-R looked like.. Might be a little more tasteful than these pics.
If this is true i can see it getting a limited run in the states/Middle East and the UK also.

Agree 100 percent.

What's the cost of this thing? 120 grand for a commodore?

This will probably be the best and only time for this car to be put into production. It could find overseas markets over the few years before the strict new fuel efficient and emission laws of the future kick in limiting overseas sales. A true Aussie Muscle car. Probably have FPV get off their backside sooner than later to develop the GT-HO.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling........

Marketing departments often leak "fabricated" information just before the release of a rival product to create fear uncertanty and doubt in the ranks of the paranoid and insecure.

They were going to launch a 700kw 6 second 400m GTSR-CO (children overboard) model but apparantly it has been done before.

Now put your dummies back in and get on with your homework........

I can't see it becoming a production reality in those specs for HSV but Walkinshaw Performance or whatever they're called could well offer an aftermarket package.

I wish Ford would do something like this : . If it is true, full credit to Holden. Atleast they are thinking. So what if your average fan can't afford it, the point is if they make it it just going to put Holden's image much further ahead again. Especially in the eyes of young people <25. If this were a write up about a new GTHO we would all be saying, 'brilliant, i cant wait, this car will kill Holden, etc'.

Exactly.. and thats about all we ever do is read about what FPV might do one day..And everyone thought a 350kw GTHO was going to be king of the road, and do we know how serious it is to produce a car with that much power blah blah, and yet again HSV stomps on Ford by proving (yet again) action is louder than words and today is better than tomorrow. Kind of like my footy team they are always going to win the flag next year but never this year....

Credit where credits due..good on HSV...They will be producing a GTS-R dont worry about that

Yeah I think Ford are in about as much trouble with this one as they were with the 427 Monaro.

Seriously though, if this does ever get released, I can't see ford matching it, not at least until they get the new V8 in 2 years time.

It wont be the LS9 in the HSVs. GM are giving Holden their own HiPo engine called the LS8. This will use a smaller supercharger/intercooler than the LS9 and therefore less power. Expect 500-525hp. It is a drop in engine and the only fiddling to be done would be to hood clearance.

SImple answer is
I and anyone with common sense wouldn't buy one at that price , there are far better buys and it is sooo ugly.. an older muscle car has the tags of good buy more fun great performance and will appreciate forever...
Hands up those who would blow 100+k on that thing ?

Looks pretty much like a falcon badged as a holden with the front bar and the power bulge with the dj style engine cover

Fear not the "New GTHO V10 S/C will smash everything" as Motor will report next month.

I really don't see what the fuss is about when there are guys on here running blown boss motors putting out just as much HP from smaller motors... who really cares if it is factory or not?

I smell insecurity from all quarters

This may be true , It's been talked about for a long time now from inside Ford, V10 dunno if it's the GTHO but there will be a model that will be using the V10 modular engine, But we will see what happens, Hopefully it's true , as V10 wound be fantastic , not to mention the cost saving over say an Aston.

Gotta love the photoshopped Nissan GT-R exhausts too.

Just a pathetic, lame attempt by Motor to push a few sales.

Whether or not HSV will release a GTS-R at the MMS, I don't know. The LS3 is all but confirmed. There will be a stunning (if all reports are true, and I don't see a repeat of the 20th Anni R8 joke) concept from Holden.
Can't believe people pay money for Motor. I don't know if I'd accept a free copy!

The ford v-1o is a nugget at best. Ford walked away from the engine and moved into the Turbo disel idea already so i wouldnt expect to see ford au use it unless they are really scrapping the bottem of the barrel.
