Many many moons ago this kinda thing was a thriving industry. You used their workshop with hoist and used your tools, theirs were available for a small charge. I knew of at least three in Adel run by mechanics who were there to help if you got stuck .........as I often did

Sounds like a OHS nightmare to me.

We can not even have someone that is not a worker in the workshop fullstop...
Work cover would give you a big fine trying to do something like that.

I have not seen this type of thing lately.

You can do anything if you have the right insurance and correct processes in place.

I remember years ago (late 80s) TAFE used to offer a basic car maintenance course where you could use all their facilities, after hours.
All my mates joined up for this reason even thought they were only there to rebuild engines etc.

I didn't even think of tafe. We had the same thing in WA. Used to run one night a week for about 4 hours. Will have to check it out

Like Big Trev says youd have to have the right insurance and more than likely a bit of paperwork.
