Default Don't you just love mates?

evening all. Just had a bad experience, felt I should share. I was at a mates house, had just moved my Gemini there, and the bloke who drove parked his AU behind (2 metres) my BA. It wasn't actually his car but another mates, he'd have driven but had a few beers and chose not to. We where parked on the street, had just unloaded the Gemini, it's rolled off the trailer and I see he's got the AU in reverse(tail lights came on) so I shout out, don't put it in reverse bud, THE HANDBRAKE DOESNT WORK!! He puts it straight into drive, hops out, and the AU veers into..

My BA..

Just as he jumps in, hits the brakes, and my bumper cracks..

Don't you just love mates? The poor bloke nearly cried, I won't make him pay for it, it was an accident and he struggles to live on an apprentice wage anyway. All I could do is survey the damage, which wasn't too bad but obvious and noticeable, and laugh. Straight home for a beer..who else loves their mates?

Me or Versace? I'm 3 beers down for the night, was sober while I moved the cars though. The AU is our tow hack and my mater family hack. It's riddled with dents. So he didn't care. I have paint missing, a footlong scratch and a dent in my bumper :(
But I don't care all too much, I owe that guy a lot he's always helping me out or shouting us a night out so there's no way I could hold this over him. Gull you're absolutly spot on

Why's that? It is unlikely that this happens but it wasn't his car and he unluckily parked close enough to my car to hit it, and was trying to put the car in neutral(from reverse) and put it in drive by mistake.
Pottery I think you guys are even!! Haha
I'll get some photos tomorrow, and of the AU to prove what happened

Versace right, when you wake up tomorow your car is still stacked up, which is no good. Get a few quote's and try and get it fixed asap.. Stay away from your insurance if you can because you will get stung being young. Shop around should come in under a grand.. Would be good if he did help you out abit. Yeah i do love my mates to and ..... Does happen!

I'll be repairing it next year when I get a few things out the way. I'm looking at it now and it's pretty minor so I don't feel bad leaving it for a bit.
Pottery you're ahead now

man i hate when mates do stuff like that. i once had a gem myself except mine had centreline rims on it and used to turn heads in town like you wouldnt beleive and this way back in the days before neons.

anyway my mate once tried to hop out on the way back from a disco but i wasnt even in my driveway yet and the door hit the power pole. he was blotto and didnt even realise it so i just bogged up the dent like we used to do back then & told him it was someone else

I think its bad idea to move a car under the influence of only 3 beers, as you can see things go wrong!

I didn't have any drinks till after we moved the car. All in all I don't think the stories that hard to follow, unless me and my iPhone are not compatible for story telling! I get a bit lazy and that's probably what's happened, missed a few bits out that might have given the story more sence
