I filled up at 7 Eleven, this morning. On the pump handle it had an ad.."More Economical Than A Camry Hybrid" closer looking it was advertising the Mondeo LX Diesel. The pump handle next to it was for the Fiesta Econetic. This puts the FORD cars in the public eye!! good idea!!!

Smart idea actually. Everytime they fill up their car, they'll think "Maybe I should get one of those next time", or "I should have got one of those if it would cost less to run".
Bit outside the box, but smart thinking. I mean, everyone with a car has to go to a petrol station fairly often, but not all people watch the TV often or listen to the radio often. |

Both great ways of advertising, much better than a tv or radio ad where most people tune out or use it as grab another drink/go to the toilet break. You always notice billboards on the freeway.

With all the different forms of media out there today, TV advertising isn't as effective as it once was. In the past you used TV to cover a wide target audience but these days you have to profile your target consumer and aim the advertising directly at them in a medium that they access.
I'm sure alot of you realise that more and more people are watching less and less traditional TV with the advent of Pay TV and the internet not to mention the proliferation of Smart phones and tablets!

Why not on pump handles? It's a great way to advertise, think how long you have to stand there to fill the car (takes ages in the ute), people will notice this. They aren't a new idea, been around for a while, and they must work because you can only sell something to meet a demand...

Get all over the public with prominent billboards and advertising, your products do not sell themselves so start reconnecting with potential buyers and get them into the showroom for a test drive. Getting people into vehicles is the hard but once they do a test drive the conversion rate to sale increases. |

I am proud to drive a Falcon.
I enjoy the car. I love driving it. For me personally, I am not concerned about the fuel consumption where I'll worry. I always monitor it, but I bought the car understanding that with the larger engine and larger body (two things I love), I'll pay more at the bowser. BUT I am bloody pleased to see Ford really stick into the low fuel consumption market with the Territory Diesel, the Mondeo Diesel and the Econetic Fiesta. They're top cars in their respective segments and I hope that in time people will realise that while a little more pricey, Ford's European offerings are worth it.
