It's no longer a Dodge Viper. It's an SRT Viper.
And Dodge trucks are now simply Ram trucks. I think Dodge is on the way out.

I wonder if it would be better to join two Pentastar V6s to make a nice V12, then add a few turbos..... I don't think Dodge is going away. New Charger and Durango look terrific.

They said on top gear when reviewing the last one, that it wasn't called a Viper, just a SRT

The Viper IMO is the greatest American muscle/sportscar ever (although the Shelby Daytona is close to perfection aswell). The shape is just sublime and IIRC there was even a TV show that got me hooked on the original RT/10. I also love the original GTS aswell...drool!
I wasnt a big fan when they squared it up a little but it was menacing nevertheless. Even the badge is cool.

I love the viper, i wish they were in AUS at the great price the yanks get them at. As long as it keeps the V10, pitty about adding traction control :P

Cool cars the Viper, but I find they sound like crap on full noise. I think a V8 with a turbo would make them a much better car imo.

Theres just so little room under the hood of a Viper and under them will open your eyes to what looks to me always like a job half done. Some of the welding would make you cry if you owned one, and yes I welded for 4 years with CSIRO so I know have a weld should look like and what bird crap is.

You may not know this, but the show was made BEFORE the car existed. The vehicle in the show was a 1 off, made specially for the show. The reaction from the public was that great, they decided to put it into production. The show could have quite easily been a flop and the car would never have existed. |

I got to see the original Viper concept car at the New York International Auto Show in 1990! It had very interesting exhaust headers that weren't on the production version.
I've got an original Viper sales brochure, also.

The Lamborghini V10s I've heard don't sound good.
Remember that I'm an American. I like an OHV (or even Flathead) V8 rumble.

The show was crap and didn't last (and I really don't think it pre-dated the production car). The car wasn't influenced by the show at all.
